Has there been any news on the release of all the Quatermass Films in R2. I've noticed that only Quatermass & The Pit has been released in R2 but don't know if the transfer was as good as R1? Could these films be released as anamorphic.

I also read somewhere about the R1 DVD's using well preserved prints from the British Film Institute although in one of the films the first few minutes had deteriorated quite badly. I wondered if nobody in the UK is being involved in any restoration work on films other than ofcourse Dr Who?

Do you mean the films or TV serials?

Each of the films, Quatermas Experiment, Quatermas II and Quatermas & The Pit were originally live six part BBC serials of the 1950's that were then remade as films in the late 50's early 60's.

The R2 Quatermas & The Pit is the original serial. As far as I know the serials of QE and QII either don't exist anymore, or are not good enough quality to release.

I don't know anything about the films.

The TV serial of Quatermass 2 exists (had it on tape for a while now) and is rumoured for a R2 release later this year. Also, don't forget the final Quatermass series "The Conclusion", from the 70s/80s starring John Mills.

Me got two eps of QE, all of Q2, Q&P and The Conclusion. :cool:
