Hi,
As above. Ive tried connecting to hdmi 1 and also 2 but just get a blank (grey) screen through the recorder!
This is with all scarts disconnected.
The recorder plays back dvds no problem.
Sky tv hdtv box set to hdmi 1 no problems.
hdmi cable I am using is "profigold pgv1001. (should be ok?)
When I try to use the viera link it shows recorder- -starting up then
I get a "check connections" on screen message!
I dont have regular tv aerial
Must I have something set incorrectly on the recorder? Any ideas tia.
Stuart.

Hi,
I have both hdmi on the tv set up as hdmi1 and hdmi2.
I have hdmi cable from sky box to hdmi 1 on tv.
I have hdmi cable from dvd to hdmi 2 on tv.
Not sure where to go for "output" hdmi:( Sorry for being so dumb.

so the way you have it setup you can get a sky pic ? but no dvd pic ? have you tried unplugging the sky hdmi at the back of the tv and putting the dvd r into the one socket you know works or vice versa ? atleast that way you know you have a dvd r prob rather than a tv input one.

The dvd works ok ie: plays dvd.
HDMI 1 has a sky hd box connected.
HDMI 2 has the dvd recorder connected.
I just dont seem to be able to get the "viera link" to hook up the two ie:tv + dvd rec. I keep getting a message to check settings and connections on hdmi devices"!

Have you tried just connecting the recorder to HDMI 1 without Sky connected and also try both HDMI leads as one may be faulty ?

Hi,
Interestingly I tried removing the sky HDMI connection and the veral link works!! Both HDMI cables are ok also.
As soon as the sky HDMI is connected the viera link fails!
I can still control recorder/tv via their remotes and even most of the recorder controls via the tv remote- - it just wont fetch up the set up page for the recorder. Thanks for your suggesstion. Now to contact Panasonic as this seems poor when you consider most with a plasma screen will want sky also.

Indeed, not very good if it is a issue with Viera link and Sky generally.
