Just a few words on 7Day Shop, as there are comments about them in the Bargain Forum and this seemed a better place for the discussion.

The 64 Mb Smartmedia bargain was the second time I had ordered from them and the previous goods arrived with little trouble.

I ordered two 64Mb Smedia on 31/12/01, and as of today 16/01/02, nothing has shown up. I know other forums members got theirs.

I sent a couple of emails in the last week, with no replies, so today I rang them, (annoying for an internet user). It seems the problem was my address, it's BFPO. Sorted it out and the goods are now supposedly on their way.

Conclusion
7Day Shop offer good value, if everything is straight forward.

Customer Service via email = pants, automated acknowledgement. It seems humans either don't read your emails or cannot be bothered to take action. On the phone they knew about the delay but couldn't explain why I hadn't been informed.

I will order again if I see a bargain. But I expect I'll have trouble with my address again, but I doubt too many others on the forum will have that problem.

JMHO

Aren't you a bit premature? You haven't received them yet!.

I have been waiting for three 8MB Smartmedia cards (must get a camera which can use larger ones) since before Christmas. They debited my credit card when they got my order but no sign of the cards. When I phoned them last Friday I was told that they were out of stock and awaiting a delivery. I'm not impressed so far.

Maybe

But they hadn't billed me like you were. I have come to expect to be messed about abit, because of my less than normal postal arrangements.

Many etailers will not send to BFPO at all.

And I'm an optomist at heart. :D

7Day Shop are the worst e-tailer I've come accross in quite a while.

I ordered a torch a couple of weeks before xmas as a present, including in my order; "this item is a christmas present, if there will be problems dispatching before Christmas, please inform me ASAP".

Heard nothing from them, the week before Crimbo I e-mailed them to enquire whether I would be getting it in time - No response. I e-mailed them again advising I wanted the order cancelled if it would not be dispatched in time - No response. Christmas eve I was out buying one a torch at Homebase (after I promised not to leave it all till the last minute this year). A week after Christmas the torch was delivered.

I simply give up! I will be showing my annoyance in the best way I know, and not shoppping at this place again.

Bah Humbug!

I ordered a battery recharger, and some NIMH batteries from them on 31/12/2001 and they took my money on 02/01/2002. I called them yesterday (extremely hacked off for taking my money and not delivering the goods), to be told that they shipped last week and I would receive them by Wednesday.

Got home from work last night and they had been delivered.

So, while a very slow supplier (I presume they were awaiting delivery), the goods did arrive, well packaged. Sometimes you just have to be patient.

I'm with you MARKMAN, I had a similar order shipped within a week, in two separate parcels to avoid C&E.

Fantastic value for money!!

You can't expect to pay these prices and receive Marks & Spencer grade service all the time.

3    for 7dayshop.
