DSLR Masterclasses!

I know the best way to get to grips with a new camera is by taking pictures, and with digital you can take as many as your heart can take.

However can anyone recommended and good magazines/articles about moving from compact to DSLR? Like what does the different ISO's means? What size lens is best for what subject?

I'm going to take part in the July Photo-A-Day thread so hopefully should be able to see an improvement over the month (with a little luck and constructive criticism)

Wot he said - Just bought a D50 and while I know some of the basics, I'd like to get to know more - I'm sure this has been answered loads already, but humour us, please, we're new :)
