There seems to be a lot of releases and different versions of this floating about in R1, R2 and R4.

R1 Warner - Special Edition
R1 Warner - Kubrick Collection
R1 Creative Design - Collecters Edition
R1 MGM - Bare Bones?

R2 Warner - Collecters Edtion
R2 Warner - Kubrick Collection

R4 MGM - Bare Bones?

Is there one particular release that stands out, and any other releases I have missed?

Cheers

the newest R1, R2 and R4 are all just as good, so long as you go for the New remastered ones.

there's only the pal/ntsc difference to take into account.. 2001 is quite music based, so i dunno if the pal speed up affects that much.

R4 land has two versions:

The single disc Warner release (Stanley Kubrick collection) which is also part of the Kubrick boxset.

and...

The Two disc version, which I believe is also from Warner is either CE or LE. I think it's quite hard to come by now.

Cheers for the replies, I'll probably end up buying a 'couple' of the latest ones as the special features are radically different on the releases

Bloody buggering tarnations!

They should release a 2001 boxset with all the different releases in :p
