good magazine. offer same as the T3 offer a few months back.

go here do this
www.imaginesubs.co.uk/RET

quote offer code of LCJ038

comes on a flyer inside latest issue of Retro Gamer so wont be any beef with sharing this.

T's & C's say

this offer entitles new uk dd subs to receive their first 3 issues for £1. after these issues subscribers will then pay £18 per 6 issues. subscribers can cancel at any time. new subs will start from the 1st avail issue. offer code lcj038 must be quoted to recieve this special sub price. offer expires on 31st July 2007.

some would suggest that you could cancel the dd after the 3 issues and the £1 has been taken if you dont wish to continue the sub. (personally i will)

Are there any other codes around for imaginesubs? (other than the coral painter one). Wouldn't mind trying the sci fi magazine if they have a trial offer.

Once they take the £1 I will cancel the Direct Debit, although £18 for 6 issues is good.

Not actually done this before so don't know when to cancel.....straight after they take a pound or after 3 issues have arrived? Thanks in advance.

Just subscribed as I buy this every month anyway. Even after the 3 for £1, 6 issues for £18 saves about £2 per issue so it's a good deal. Cheers to the OP.

Can someone post a quick "Idiots guide to canceling a sub" and tell this idiot when to cancel it, please? :D

internetuser
20-06-2007, 22:27
let them take the £1 then cancel the DD

T4V
20-06-2007, 23:30
let them take the £1 then cancel the DD
Take it as red that I've never cancelled a DD and I have a useless bank (who still owe me money even though I've been in 4 times in 3 months to get them to pay me!) and make the guide more.... idiot-y :D

I'm tempted by this, but must resist, because I still have all my original 'retro' magazines in nice piles in the loft.

I sold mine on Ebay a few years ago when I was skint.

I did quite well, some issues went for £12 - £15 each and I have to say, if I was being a big boy about it, I don't really miss them.

Retro Gamer has just gained another pound! Should I go for Games TM too? DOn't really want to risk it taking 36 quid off me but 2 quid is fine :D

Steve Jackson
22-06-2007, 05:14
I've been greedy and gone for both. I don't see what the problem is as long as the direct debits are cancelled after the intial £1 payment has been taken.

Yeah may well do the same at some point just not sure whether they will increase in value much more or not.
Havent looked at them in years.

God! Retro Gamer always looks good in the shops. Last issue (Space Invaders) was poor IMO.

Just got another one. Gonna cancel now, I'm not too bothered about the 3rd issue.

T4V
10-09-2007, 15:10
Today was my 3rd issue, just out of interest how are you going to cancel the sub? I've cancelled the DD at the bank but is there anything else I have/should do?

edwinrgarland
10-09-2007, 15:14
I've just canceled the DD.

I don't think you have to do anything else. I also seem to remember something when I signed up about canceling the DD if i didn't want to continue subscribing.

Just got my 3rd Retro. Not going to keep it up. Its okay but not really compelling enough.

Same with Painter magazine. Very dull. May try some others as I do like a good magazine.

just out of interest i've put the same offer code in .. even though it says offer expired end of july... still seems to work!

hmmm i wonnnnnnnnder ;):n0rty:

well its not to everyone's taste. i think its pretty good myself.. similar writing style to Your Sinclair.. well, ish. but covers all the stuff i want to see in a retro mag. guess you have to be into retro gaming to appreciate it.
