I'm surprised that people couldn't just watch it for what it was...a bit of fun...even IMDB gave it 7/10 and they are pretty harsh with the ratings!

That proves nothing...someone gave it a bad review and more people didn't like it, there are still thousands more people that did like it.

Personally, I ignore critics reviews cos most of them are up their own arse's when it comes to films, I prefer a public response which IMDB gives...a nice balanced vote...in favor

I saw this film last night. Very poor start with every joke missing its mark. Once the race starts though things improve, quite a few laugh out loud moments. Overall I Thought It was okay. Rowan Atkinson was very funny doing his mr bean(ish) turn as an italian.
