I've got a Panasonic TH37PX70. It worked fine for two weeks after it was delivered, then one night it just went suddenly from working properly into standby mode and that's all it will do now, operate in standby.

When you turn it on you get sound for a second or two, then it slips back into standby and that's it.

Anyone had this problem?

Incidentally, anyone else had dealings with Total Digital (aka Premier AV Centre) in Handsworth, Birmingham? To say their commitment to prompt customer service over this issue has been a little disappointing so far would be putting it mildly.

Any thoughts? I have a bit of a daft theory, that our kiddie picked up the remote control while I was out of the room and somehow got into the menu and turned the off timer on to 0, which could mean in theory the TV is now telling itself to turn itself off as soon as it comes on. But without a picture I can't get back into the menu to check this. It's really bizarre, the TV was working perfectly, and now this.

Does the red power light flash a number of times before it goes back to being dead...

Mine, and a mates 42px60's have done this, and it's a dead power supply - so off they went for free repairs to panasonic....

Yes, that's exactly what happens. Thanks for that, much appreciated.

Very disappointed, because in the two weeks the set was working I was very happy with the picture quality.

Technically, as it's less than 30 days since purchase the store I bought it from (see above) should replace with a new set but, as I say, they are hardly falling over themselves to do it. Three days since contacting them and being assured they would sort me out and I've heard nothing.

Thanks again. For some reason I'm allowed to post on the DVD Forums but when I try to go on the AV one my password always gets rejected!

I have also had dealings with Total Digital over a faulty dvd player and yes, its customer service is very poor in my opinion. I would only buy from there again if the item required was VERY much cheaper than anywhere else. And maybe not even then!
