Has anyone ever tried to connect a pc to this?

If so have you managed to get it to work?

I have downloaded the protocol for it (seems very straight forward) but the amp (A1SE) doesn't appear to output anything from the RS232 connector. I am going to use an oscilloscope to check later on this evening.

If anyone has any ideas let me know. It would be very useful for me to control the amp via my pc rather than the remote.

I think that's only used to upgrade the software mate, I doubt you could control it from your PC.

Nah, it was my fault - I got transmit and recieve crossed.

You can control ALL the features on my amp via a pc.

Very very cool indead. Now all I need is a decent program rather than hyperterminal.

Groovy. :D

But how on earth can a PC be easier to use than pointing and pressing a few remote buttons? :p

I have this remote and it's a pain to use

atkis remote (http://www.denon.com/aktis/)

Also I often use my pc while listening to music etc, its far easier to have a program running on my desktop than have to turn the remote on, flick to the correct operations page just to mute the sound or something!
