View Full Version : Problems with my Toshiba 36 Widescreen

I recently bought a 36" picture frame widescreen tele.
Generally the picture is very good, but in the upper and lower left hand corners there appears to be a very slight distortion in the colour spectrum, ie it seems to have a faint blue stain.
Is there anything I can do about this ?

I bought the tele from John Lewis so it has a five year warrenty, and I contacted them about it. They sent an engineer who degaused it (is that the correct term), but that didn't resolve the problem. He thought that it might be a "characteristic" of the machine but I cannot believe that Toshiba would release their flagship TV with a "charateristic" like this.
Is it worth getting them to change the tele over.
I'd appreciate any feedback regarding this matter.
Cheers.

I'm having a very similar problem with my Toshiba 28". Does it happen intermittently or is it all the time?

The engineer replaced a thermistor which was supposed to sort it out on mine, but it hasn't. When I contacted them again they told me there must be some sort of magnetic field where I have the TV and to try moving it, which seemed to lessen the problem (and no, the TV was nowhere near any speakers!;)) so it might be worth moving it a bit and seeing if it goes away.

It hasn't completely fixed it though, I still get colour patches but less frequently. Anyone got any ideas?

It's all the time, and the tele's well away from the speakers.
