View Full Version : The West Wing on dvd
I read over at http://www.dvdreviewer.co.uk last Thursday, that on the 25th March, The West Wing (R2) box 1 will be released with a retail price of £34.99 (so I'm guessing 3 discs).
However, nowhere else has this news item and as yet nowhere has is available for pre-order.
Can anyone confirm if this is in fact true.
DVD Debate also reported the release (and said it was volumes 1-3) a few weeks back, but I've not heard about it anywhere else and I don't know of anyone taking orders yet.
R2 Project (http://www.r2-dvd.org/article.jsp?sectionId=2&articleId=3310) is giving some details.
Anyone knows of an R4 release?
Got the press release this morning - it's the first 11 episodes of the first season they're releasing, and it will be out the end of March for £35.

Is that the complete Season 1 or just half?
11 episodes: that's half the season 1 (22 in total)

play now have it available to order. £28.99 :-)
I noticed that this is in 4:3 full frame, I thought The West Wing was filmed in W/S.
play often don't get the video format or audio format correct.
That said, we're talking about Warner here, so there is as much chance of ever getting it w/s as there is of a pretzel becoming president.

So, about 50/50 then? ;)
Was it ever shown in widescreen over here? I just remember E4 showing it in 4:3.
Truly brilliant show; the same mix of satire and drama that makes The Sopranos such a sucess.
Series 3 onwards is in widescreen; the first episode, "Issac and Ishmale", screened specially on E4 recently, was shown as such. So the correct ratio for series one is 4:3. :)
