Just Visiting. Jean Reno....

I came out of Mean Machine the other night at my local UCI and spied a poster for a film called Just Visiting. Nearly walked past it, but turned around and had a closer inspection to the poster. It has the 2 main characters peering out a drain hole, one of them being Jean Reno. So what you may say to yourself, but I am 99.99999% certain I have seen this on Film Four a few months ago!!!!

Whats going on, is it just a re-release, or is this the first time its being shown in UK cinemas, I am slightly confooosed :confused:

...ahh... Just Visiting... the rather dismal, sorta kinda English-language 'remake' of the rather dismal (but humongously successful - in France) French original Les Visiteurs and its imaginatively-titled, even more dismal sequel Les Visiteurs 2 (both available on a French DVD-10, one movie to a side)...

...to be fair, I should add that Roger Ebert - "America's pre-eminent movie critic" - seems to have liked JV, granting it three out of four stars... but, then, who knows what he was smoking when he did that?...

Yeah I rented "get over it" last night with the girlfriend (don't ask!), and saw a trailer for this. I was sure that I'd seen the first half of this film late on terrestrial tv - but seemed to recall that it was french. :)

Hmm, I usually love Jean Reno whatever he's in, but judging by the trailer I don't think even I could sit through Just Visiting.

I saw this on a flight to America about 6 months ago so I HAD to sit through it!! and it is every bit as terrible as you all seem to think!! I was so grateful when we landed and missed the end!

(Incedently on the return flight we had 'Head Over Heels' a 'comedy' starring Freddy Prinze Jr!! How unlucky were we??!!)
