View Full Version : Epson P-3000/P-5000 viewer
Anyone any experience of these handheld veiwers?
Looks exactly what I want - to go out without camera and show pics.
Any alternatives or user reports would be great.
(got to be a little bit rugged).

I have a P-2000 (original model) that I have rarely used.
Only critism I can remember is that the software is a bit clunky, but I think they have supposed to have improved that with the latest models.
Do you mean the software on the device or the installation software?

On the deivice. If you do things too quickly, like scroll thru your photos, it can get bogged down sometimes. It's OK at what it does. However, there is someone here that had one (P2000) and absolutely hated it!! As I said, the new ones are supposed to be better.
EDIT: Just been reading around, and the P3/5K is supposed to be 2.5x faster than the P2k and also has better manangement software. The screen, which is it's major plus point, I believe is the same, but slightly bigger.
Had a P2000 and liked it a lot but it was too slow for transferring images from compact flash cards. I presume if you don't mind waiting then its ok. The other gripe is that it does not zoom into RAW files, only JPGs.
thanks.
sounds fine - it's being used for quite modest pictures, not anything special.
