Help - I can't decide between the above 2!
Both can be had for similar money and offer a very similar spec, but but have different pro's and cons.
I currently have a minolta Dimage Z1 - great camera. I've taken some awesome pics and love being able to point and click but also it has the ability to set up shots manually. Both of the above 2 cameras are the same.
I currently have a stack of SD cards (which the panasonic would take) and a load of good rechargeable batteries (which the Sony would take). So which route do I go down?! I like being able to use AA batteries as I can carry more, for less cost and be able to charge a set up wherever. I believe with the FZ8 I would need to effectively plug the camera into a socket to charge the battery (and spares ones cost more). In my mind this means there is more chance of batteries dying when I'm away somewhere and not being able to change them so easily.
I am a bit of an amateur/hobbyists when it comes to photography, but I do enjoy taking a good picture. I mainly photograph cars, planes and wildlife and I'm looking for a good camera to take me forward.
Has anyone used either or both and can help me decide on one of them?
