Which Filter do I need....

...Got the 17-40mm L it's more for protection than anything else (I'm pretty Amateurish) which one do I need, I've seen some on OSD at about £20ish, it's just the size I'm unsure of.

You'll need a 77mm for that lens. As for the type, go for a b+w or Hoya multi coated uv. The B+W ones tend to be less suseptable to dust and smudges IMO.
