I am after a coal effect gas fire (not the electrical ones), can someone tell me a cheap reliable place to get one from.

Also do you have to have it going through a chimney or is it possible to have it without a chimney.

Any help would be appreciated.

Youve got to have a flue on it, unless you want to die a slow fumey related death :)

What's a flue, is it on the gas fire or does it have to be on the wall.

http://www.focalpointfires.plc.uk/ do a nice range.Wickes amongst others sell these(though under their own name I think).A flue is basically an exhast pipe for the fumes which you would buy as part of the fire package. If you have`nt got a chimney then you geneally install the fire on an outside wall(that is the inside of an outside wall:) )with a fan assisted flue although I see on the web site that they have flueless fires listed now.
