They're right, the comics really should be in.
I can see this being my first HD-DVD purchase.

As stated in the articel its good to hear there will be extras but the comics are a must really i havent read them yet as i was hoping to check them out when i rewatch the series on dvd
Xenomorph i will also be getting the hd sets cant wait
sweet.
surprised the screener wasnt leaked at all
I imagine the comics will be released as a proper graphic novel and some sort of bundle of DVD and novel will be sold too.
That would be good but as a friend of mine pointed out, the comics are integral to the episodes so should be on the discs as part of each episode sub-menu. She is correct about this.
I would love a proper printed graphic novel as well though.

No they're not..? I've been reading through the comics now (I'm up to about 211 but compeltely up to date with the TV series), they give a bit of back story, but the episodes are entirely watchable without them.
What JamesK said, the only thing that's confused without reading the comics is who the hell Wireless is? And since she's only been in 1 or 2 eps so far, she's far from integral to the storyline at this point.
NB I haven't read any of the comics, jsut a few snippets from them that people have posted on here, they're just a part of the "brand building" they've done for the show, like that silly Lost Experience thing last summer.
The comics aren't essential but they do clear up a few points in the story e.g. Eden's death.
Whatever, they should still be included with the relevant episode. :oh-hum:

Sorry, but comics? I've been watching it on SciFi and following it no problem, and this is the first I've heard of comics.

They're in the novels section on the official website. They're not essential to the plot but they help round out some of the background characters.
Is it possible to get posters of the art in the show yet?

Have read them all, well worth reading them
Is it possible to get posters of the art in the show yet?I'm pretty sure you can get merchandise from the NBC website?
I was going to buy this but the ending was such a letdown, I doubt I'd watch it again.

Er, it was...
anyone know which region has the best version?
I think R2 is being split innto 2 boxsets- and I have a hard time believing that the sets are gonna look as nice as the R1 especially with bloody BBFC things all over them.
No idea about what specs/extras the R2 is getting.
Just get the R1- you get it now and it'll be a load cheaper than the R2!
That's disappointing! Anyone heard anything more about the world tour thing?

The R2 is being released as a complete season in December. I'm sure once it's released, it won't be too long before it'll be available for around the £25 mark.
World Tour- wish I did know its been truely shrouded in mystery. But Nathan and Peter as well as Claire and Noah are in London this Friday Saturday and Sunday. Dont know where or when though lol
Information up now! http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/heroesworldtour/
Join Jack Coleman (H.R.G), Adrian Pasdar (Nathan), Hayden Panettiere (Claire), Milo Ventimiglia (Peter) and Dennis Hammer (executive producer) in:
LONDON, ENGLAND
August 30th - September 2nd

Hayden Panettiere you say?
* books train ticket *
That website is quite nice and all but it doesn't actually make any mention of where they'll be or what is going on :D

This (http://community.livejournal.com/hwt_europe/1191.html) LJ page is meant to be being updated with details.
Sounds like a bit of a bodged tour to me - they've obviously gone to some effort as the website is pretty polished, but then there's no itinerary available at all so all the fans who would make the trip to London will miss out anyway.

Pasdar and Ventimiglia were on BBC Breakfast, saying they’re about one third the way into filming S2.

Has Milo Ventimgilia had a stroke or something?
Serious question - his mouth just seems very droopy.

In the latest issue of Empire (Will Smith cover) it lists - 'Heroes Season 1, Part 1' as being released on October 1st. I have a hard time believing anyone on here waiting for the R2 rip off when the R1 and the HD-DVD are available now.

Dunno but it was perfect to play Rocky's son!

It's over £18 ($37) so expect custom charges even if it is less than 50p more. I won't order it until is $5 cheaper.
got mine from axell music on tuesday. Good stuff so far, about 3 eps ahead of the bbc2 shwoings at the mo.
This is probably the best release on DVD this year, very good packaging and very well-bound. The HD-DVD does look grainy in parts but it does on the BBC2 showings as well. Although when Hiro teleports for the the first time to New York, the HD-DVD picture is astonishingly clear, one of the cleanest hi-def shots I've seen. Only seen the first two episodes so far.

Have had semi-regular packages from Amazon for a few months now and they’re routed via France and to all intents and purposes originate in Europe. There have been no customs inspection stamps on them either, confirming they were not even passed by them to clear. I am not saying it is 100% but IMO with the weedy dollar and the route they’re taking, there’s never been a better time to take a chance.
Can’t see it dropping to $32 until Xmas time...maybe. $36.99 is a seriously good price.

o my GODDDD the ending was.... NOT disappointing.... It was.... Ummmmm....
Anyway I got my region 1 off ********* and Mr Speed won't let me watch it because he found a Rik Mayell comedy he's never seen before... He's jealous of pp'S HAIR.
Tangent... Yes, it a great set, loads cheaper than region 2 as thats coming out as series 1 part 1, series 1 part 2 - £29.99 EACH.
Good grief....
We're not made of money!
How about spoiler tags for that ? although I suppose Mrs Speed will say I wasn't trying to spoil it - just letting anyone know who hasn't seen the US shows that the last episode is rubbish
I've got my Region 1 DVD boxset as well. I'm looking forward to watching the episodes not yet shown on the BBC. However, I dislike the overlapping DVD packaging style, it should be banned. ;)

£18 (+ shipping) now from Amazon.com. Why wait months to get ripped off for the R2?I'm watching it on BBC2 at the moment so won't have any interest in watching it again for a couple of years. I'll pick up the R2 when it's 14.99 inc.

Yeah that £6 you save over 3 years could prove crucial :thinking::p
I reckon the R2 will have the beautiful comic style subs removed as well and have the hideous player generated ones.
Lovely set - the HD-dvds have been really well put together. Defo one of the best releases of the year. No reason to wait for the R2 IMO.

No, about £25. Definitely worth worrying about over 3 years is that...:pIt's not a case of worrying, I just don't like paying more than than £20 for a show. I'm used to paying a lot less. So far, apart from Sopranos Season 3 and 4 I've never paid more than £15 for a complete Season of any show. Besides, I don't think you'll have to wait 3 years:?: I reckon it'll be significantly cheaper than 20 quid within the year.

Just looking on Amazon.com and its coming in at $76 including shipping to the UK. Is this the cheapest option around just now? Not bothered about having to wait a bit longer than normal to deliver.
The customs charge on it would be around £15 though.
Just under £50 from Axel Music. No customs charges.

Finished watching all the episodes today, great series. Looking forward to Volume 2 cant see it being as good as the first. But i'am sure it'll be good.
er - I have a question.
How on earth does the Mind Reader extra work on disc 5.
It's freaking me out that it is right everytime!!!!

Seem to be having a few problems with Disc 3 on this set. Picture keeps breaking up on the episodes and the disc keeps on stopping. No one else seems to have reported this problem so could it be a problem with the disc or my DVD player (Pioneer XV-DV222).
I've not read anything about problems with the dvd version but there are reports about problems with the HD-DVD version. (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=8023)
