Hi, I'm new here so I hope I'm in the right place! This site has been recommended as being full of useful people :notworthy

I have a Panasonic video camera and want to connect by DV cable to my DVD recorder. Panasonic cables are £29.99 and 7DayShop (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=530&gid=6083&id=30372) have them for £7-something. Both sockets are 4-pin and look the same so would the 7DayShop (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=530&gid=6083&id=30372) ones work OK?

Also, do you have to download anything or just plug in and away you go?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Go for the cheaper one. Movie Maker in Windows XP gives you options to transfer automatically or manually.

One here (http://www.cableuniverse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22_58&products_id=223) for £2.49 that should work fine.

Thanks very much - £2.49 sounds good to me!

Sorry, Maddogsuk, I need a bit more practice on here I think! Thanks for moving me anyway!

Snoopstah, I just have to tell you - I ordered the cable on Wednesday night (it cost me £2.49 plus £1.99 postage) and it arrived on Friday. I connected it up today and we watched all our videos for the last 2 1/2 years through our DVD - brilliant! Thanks very much for the link, I would recommend that site.
