Hello

I'm going to China (particularly the Great Wall and surrounding terrain) and I need a good camera.

I have a Canon IXUS 40, and while it's great, it's 4.0 MP and I was recommended at least 5.0 MP if I want to print at A4 size afterwards.

I'm aware that MP size isn't everything and I was thinking of getting an SLR but those are really expensive and unfortunately I only have around £100 to spend.

I'm looking at a Pentax Optio M20 (7.0 MP). Direct Link (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000HDDKT8/thedvdforums-21)
It's under £70 from Amazon and seems to get good reviews. Anyone got opinions on this?

Alternatively anyone got any recommendations?

Many thanks!:notworthy

To be honest, theres very little in it between that camera and the ixus. Sure theres higher megapixel count, but the compact digitals tend to be very much for muchness in the lens quality segment. Especially if your looking at that sort of money.

Maybe something like a fuji 5600 might be appropriate, at least your gaining CCD size at the same time as your gaining megapixels.

Alternatively, buy film ;)

I've heard that China is a big country, so perhaps a compact with a wide-ish angle lens might useful for things like that Wall of theirs?

edit: can't really think of a wide-angle compact for around £100, though. Anyone else?
