I've searched the forums but can see no mention of the above camera. I've currently got an IXUS 40 and looking to move onto something a bit 'fancier'. Would the above suit this, as it can be picked up for under £150 these days?

I'm not looking to turn pro, or anything like that!!!!, would just like to be able to do a bit more with a camera (not that I can do too much at the moment!!). Particulary in taking pics of my 16 month old son as Canon is ok when outdoors, but indoors it's rubbish. Would the fuji be an improvement?

Any opinons?

I've not used it but if it has the same 6MP sensor as the F30/1 then it should be a cracking camera with great low light (high ISO) ability.

i had the s7000 which i've just sold. got an olympus e500 now.
while the s7000 (very similer to the s6500) is a great camera in itself, it had a number of shortcomings which after playing with a proper dslr became very apparent (ie the fly-by-wire zoom/focus)

but
saying that.. i belive you can pick up the 6500 for about 150quid now, and compared to the 300 odd for a cheap dslr its a billy bargain. a great step in the right direction to actually learning how to take good photos instead of just pointing and letting the camera do all the thinking (which the fuji does excellently also)
