I've searched this forum and had a look on photography forums but I still don't have a clue to which digital camera to buy.

My requirements:

- I basically want the best all rounder for £150.
- I won't be enlarging the pics so MP not really that important.
- Would like a cam with a few features so I can learn some photography skills.
- Haven't got a brand preference. Though I have heard good things about Canon and Sony.

Some help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers.

Have a look at my comments here (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7307958&postcount=2), that may tick all your boxes.

Like Boink says, the Fuji F30/1 pretty much has the £150 range for compacts covered, especially if you want some manual controls.

I'm seriously considering the F30. But I might be able to stretch my money and get a F40. Or alternatively can save a few bob and get a F20. So is there a massive difference between F20, F30 and F40? Will it be woth upgrading/downgrading from my first choice of F30?

Cheers

My understanding is that the F31 and F40 are the replacements for the F30 and F20, respectively. F30/31 has some manual controls (shutter/aperture priority) and the F20/40 are fully auto cameras. If it was me, I'd go for the F31 or F40, as they're the latest models. Because I wanted some control, I bought the F31 :)

Best value for money is the F30 IMO, worth the upgrades over the F20 but IIRC the F40 has worse high ISO IQ because of it's higher res sensor and less manual controls!
