Due to various players not meeting the deadlines, i've revised the rules.
NEW DEADLINE RULES
If you don't play all your matches before the specified deadlines, you're out. No second chances anymore.
The only exceptions will be holidays etc. (if informed before they happen!) & 360 console failures.
Any player that doesn't complete all his matches, will get a warning. Get 2 warnings and you'll have to sit out a season. Of course, if the reason the match didn't get played is due to circumstances beyond your control, leniency will be given.
Rules
1. Matches are to be played on a home and away basis. I suggest these are played in the same session one after the other to keep the league moving at a decent pace.
2. The setting for the matches are :-
Matchtime – 10 mins
Injuries – Yes
Max subs – 3
Extra Time – No
PK – No
Player Condition – Random
Weather - Fine
Any other setting are at the discretion of the host.
3. The bottom 3 teams in the division will be relegated. The Top 3 promoted.
4. If a player drops out of the league, his results will be removed from the records.
5. Disconnections - If the match disconnects:-
0 - 15 mins - restart with the scores reset
15 - 45 mins - restart with the scores of the 2 games combined.
45- 70 mins - the 2nd half host restarts, with the game ending at half time. The scores of the 2 games are combined.
70 - 90 mins -The 2nd half hosts restarts a 5 minute game which will end at half time. The scores of the 2 games are added together.
6. Results should be posted in the thread as soon as possible after playing the matches. Post offical results in BOLD. They should also be submitted at www.dvdfpes.co.uk , where you should all be registered!
7. Any player who doesn't play within the published deadlines will be removed and banned from the following season. If a player gets removed in a second season, they will receive a lifetime ban.
8. Lag – If you experience lag in the first half of the match, you must disconnect within the first 10 minutes of playing time. Any goals scored in these 10 mins will not count, when the match is restarted.
If the lag appears when the half time connection switch is made, the client must disconnect within 10 minutes. The 2nd half host will then re-start the match with the game ending at half time. The score of the 2 games will be added together.
9. Matches should be arranged either in the season thread or by using the messenger system on the 360.

Deadline 2 (15 Matches) - 3rd June 2007
Season Ends - 10th June 2007

When a banned player is let back into the league, they will start in the bottom division!

Good question, Br00nster.
Approx. 30% of players didn't complete all there matches by deadline day, and it would have been more than that if i hadn't of given people an extra day. And i don't think 1 season has been fully completed since we started.
Also, there was a potential promotion issue that didn't get sorted in the championship, so i know at least 1 person is going to be narked by that.
Making the deadlines longer isn't the answer, because you'll still get players who'll wait until the deadline to get matches played (which isn't a problem as long as the games get played), so i thought i'd just tighten up the management of the deadlines, to see if that focuses peoples minds on getting there matches played.
It's not as if the deadlines are tight. The first one is 17 days, which is more than enough time to have a few warmup matches & get 10 league games played.

Btw Stevie, i'm on holiday 15-22 May. Hopefully shouldn't be a problem meeting the 10 match deadline, but thought i should get it in if it gets me a reprieve in extremis :lol:

What happens if doing that gives someone who hasn't completed their matches an advantage over someone who has? If that were the case last season, I would have just sacked off my matches with Ghoul and got promoted by default. Which has happened somehow anyway, but you get the point...

Looking forward to season five. I think there's only 3 players in Division 1 that i've never played before.
I think it'll be quite an open season with Da Outsider, Pauldcocker & Sfowles leading the way for promotion.... maybe WSchofield too if he plays to the standard he did at Lynx in our old Forums Tour days.:)

Cheers, they were my first games with them actually. Think they might be quite handy, although they lack a decent defence (no CBs with any marking, covering or d-line stars....balls). My only recommendations would be to use Hasan Sas as well as you can, as he is head and shoulders their best player (i was playing him as a central AMF against you, with low defence to push on to support the front men), and to stick with the two default strikers (Ates and Karan i think). Hakan Sukur has some good stats, and would make a decent sub in the last third of the game, but he's too slow to trouble most defences from the outset. And for god's sake don't use Song as a CB - if you're going to use him at all, do so as a pacy over-lapping FB, as he has little or no interest in defending :lol:

My advice to you is get a formation and stick with it and play the players which suit that certain formation.
I only use one formation and it doesnt matter what team i am i will organise my players around that formation.:)

A couple of good close games there.
Second match and his keeper lets the ball slip through his fingers for the first goal. And the second takes a deflection off of one of the defenders which loops it over the keepers head. Unlucky

Not sure how we went from a boring 0-0 draw to a nine goal thriller but it all started when Luffk was a bit unlucky to get a man sent off. The last ten minutes were the most interesting. Coasting along at 4-2 up I suddenly lost two goals. A final effort saw me sneak a winner deep into injury time.

Absolute cracker of a game that second one. Sending off I thought was a tad hash because I think there was at least one more defender between your chap and the goal. Ah well. With a couple of minutes left I'd managed to drag it back to 4-4 but when will I learn to just clear my lines with a hoof ball in the last seconds of the game. Stupid defending. Oh well. It all played its part in a good game. Good luck for the rest of the season.

First game could perhaps have gone either way. No real bones though I didn't defend that well at times and you took your chances. Second game I honestly think Rawowl was just a tad unlucky. I wasn't really a happy bunny after of my previous games (bad defending mainly and other bits and bobs - we've all been there) and I think I just ended up taking it out on you mate. Good luck for the rest of the season.
I've played 4 games tonight and I'm amazed I got 6 points out of them !!!! Tough games out of the way as well.

Probably the 2 most frustrating games I've ever played. Had plenty of chances in both games but just couldn't get them on target, at least 4/5 chances I'd normally score going just the wrong side of the posts. Plus Espanyol players were much faster and stronger than my lot (Mikenwa's a beast!) so not much I could do but watch when Hornsteve managed to break through.

Took a break after getting trounced by Hornsteve and then luffk in a friendly and came back all "Sylar" for the next 3 games like "I see how it works now" :dork: :lol:
Can't really remember much about this other than the first game was a lot closer than the second obviously. Finally started to get to grips with the team and find out who can actually get a shot on target :nuts:

Had a few connection issues for some reason (still think it's cos of the latest update) so the score of the second game was actually 2-1 because only the result of the first half counts, but still same goal difference so doesn't really matter. Was a great back-and-forth second game and I just managed to get the winner 5 minutes from the end of the first half - technically the second :thinking:

A perfect start to the season. 1st game i was lucky to win tbh, a dodgy own goal, then the 2nd in injury time when you were pushing for the equaliser.
2nd match, i think your formation change played into my hands as i had a lot more space and cruised easily to victory.

I missed a penalty in the first game, but I didn't mind so much, it looked like it may have been an AI-initiated slide tackle in the first place. That game really could have gone either way.
The result of the second game perhaps flattered me, my second came right near full time when Moby was on all-out attack to get an equaliser. It was tighter than 2-0 suggests. Two good games, well played.
Yeah thanks for the games.:thumbs: I think my defence or deep lying midfielders needlessly gave away possession moments before each of your goals as i often do.... i'm beginning to think it might not be their passing stats but rather the way i play! :doh: :lol:

yeah nothing seemed to go my way in the first game, was rediculous, 2nd game i did better, that was a dodgy pen tho, you're right, changed the game as well, was tight up until that.

Well played Steve. First game your forwards passed and moved around my defenders with ease, creating massive gaps in front of my centre backs which you easily scored from. Second game I kept the ball better, but even when I was two goals up I was waiting for the inevitable comeback. It looked like a lot of your players were out of form though (a few misplaced passes in midfield) which helped me to hang on. Cheers

Four up by HT in the first game, and then (to borrow a turn of phrase from Jose), Pompy parked the bus for the 2nd half and the second game, with two very deep DMFs in front of the back four. Worked well to make attacking more difficult, but thankfully Hasan Sas managed to grab the single goal to get the three points.

An overly-generous scoreline in the first game, as it was pretty tight for the most part, and only after Weir got his marching orders for two late tackles from behind did i pull away. Second game i scored with the first possession, and was able to control the game with the cushion, though again it was a good, hard-fought contest. Pleased just to get through those games, as there was some pretty bad button-lag at times (especially in the first game). I'm guessing it hampered us both equally though.

4 very fun games.
Totally outplayed in the first game, Villa really don't like to score in this, but got a lucky goal in the return leg.
The second games against PC23 were both fairly lucky goals, I think my passing improved getting used to Villa and their desperate lack of pace.

First game i was happy to take a point considering i just couldn't finish the game off.
Second game i changed my team from the default players and it made a huge difference. The team felt more lively and creative with a little more pace. koe_182 made chances but was unlucky with hitting the woodwork;)

I've come to the decision that I am lumbered with a duff team in Portsmouth - no pace and very little skill! I think I'll be bottom of the league by a long way, so am now aiming to get my games out of the way asap before I completely lose interest in the game :(

Look I have found some Pear cider like they have at Glasto from Brothers cider, mmmmm let me taste the PEAR said I, and the rest is history :lol:
Even five at the back wasnt enough to stop the goals come flying into my net, I wasnt hammered but re-actions a little slow .
Until I thought I had played Darlo Kev for two games and it turned out I had only played one, I received a message saying "want to play the other one?" ooops what's going on here then I thought :lol:
It reminded me of a story of Aerosmith many years ago who were so hammered they thought they had already played and arrived on stage to shout "Thank you Torronto, good night"

Sorry to everyone who messaged me last night but I didn't get to play, as soon as I logged on I got an influx of requests! Took me a while to warm up, had a couple of tough games against r.vernon which were pretty even.
Then played FatBernard and I was wetting myself through both games! lol
The blokes a good lad, was fairly close but I won both legs, mainly through hard tackling and lots of spooned flukey passes! He was unlucky to get nothing from both games, I think I scraped the first 1-0, the second game finished 3-2 but for the last 10mins it was cheek clenching time as my defenders swanned about my 18 yard box swinging at thin air as the onslaught came.

I wasnt best pleased however with 15 shots and not being able to finish one chance you cant expect to win matches. I thought your winner had been ruled out as there seemed to be a big pause it was a real sucker punch.

Thought I'd snatched a winner in the 87th in the first game only to somehow get myself into a 3 against 1 in the 90th minute and for Luffk to equilise deep into stoppage time. Second was fairly drab, and I was probably lucky to get a point after Luffk hit the post midway through the second half.

got a bit jittery at the end of the first half of the game but think that was the usual pes slowdown as the ball gets into a corner.
Couple of good goals even playing with Villas standard 4-5-1 formation there were plenty of shots. The long ball punt in the second game wasnt the best build up play I've ever done but it was effective with the keeper and defender getting tangled up which allowed Angel to score

Conceded an early goal, well taken btw then suffered some freakin' slow down that during which i was shouting at the screen that it better not lead to a goal.... it did. Never got back in it. Never got my head back in it even,
2nd match, suffer another quick goal. Blood Pressure rises. Then my keeper failed to get a simple back pass & finally slow down at a free kick in the second half, which wouldn't allow me to move the defender who i was in control of, quick enough.... guess what, the ball deflects in off for a goal. 3-0. Don't get me wrong, you deserved your victories but 2/3 of your shots were from far out - not troubling and i just lost it!!
Was minutes from beating Da Outsider, what's with that??? Conceded a cpu diving pen in the last minute. 2-2. Great. Absolutely slaughtered in the second game.
Played sfowles too. He won the first and i took the lead in the second match 5 minutes from time, but it was level with 4 left. And is there no option to insist the ref wears completely different coloured kits to the players, my vga washed out screen led to some difficulties because of it, several times.
This isn't a camaj type rant were i'm whinging about everyone else... it's just the game, crap luck & me, i'm freakin' frustrated at.:cuckoo::D

A late equaliser and lots of scrappy play (fouling) earned me a point in this strongly contested game - I had been hammered by Steve in the past so wanted to make sure I didn't get beat this time.

A tough fought game with good play and decent passing saw us almost cancel eachother out - an inspired substitution and a flukey longball headed downward ensured all goodies came my way. A couple of red cards for HS9 effectively saw the game finished - though a late rally caused concern and saw me hanging on until the final whistle.
