A new DVD version is due out soon according to horrordvds.com.

Has anybody seen this film? How does it compare to Holocaust?

It's a lot more silly than Holocaust with one or 2 excellent effects (the bonesaw through the knee and the shotgunned-hole from Lombardo Radice) and some really, really dodgy ones too (the eyeball bit during the gang fight springs to mind.)

Stars John Saxon and Radice as Vietnam war survivors who develop a taste for human flesh and get hunted down by the army. It's much more enjoyable that Holocaust (which is pretty relentlessly grim and disturbing) and should be a nice disc when it comes out too.

Its my favourite "Cannibal" movie, if you can call it that. Even though it does contain cannibalism, its presented as a virus spread by bite, as opposed to the traditional Italian cannibals. Its set in the city, and plays as more of an action movie than a horror film.
Its also great fun, and worth a look.

Been waiting a while for this one to arrive! :)

A great little Cannibal romp which still has plenty of nice gore shots for the fans, as mentioned above though, it isnt your usuall in the jungle" flick since it is set in the city, apart from the Vietnam sequence at start.

The other thing that sets it apart from other Cannibal flicks of the time, is that this is the only one with no anaimal killings in it.

Highly recommended for the horror fans, enjoy the ride! :D

Just hope the disk is up to scratch though. Anyone know if the John Saxon commentary is going to be on it?
