The May 21 season capper will set up two big ideas for the second volume of Heroes, to be titled ''Generations.'' The new saga will focus on putting the Heroes mythology in a grand historical context of superpowered family dynasties. ''I know exactly where season 2 starts,'' says Oka. ''It focuses on heritage, the family line, and the source of the powers.'' That means the ''older'' generation of heroes — including George Takei's Papa Nakamura and especially Cristine Rose's Mama Petrelli — should expect more screen time. ''I'd like to think she's going to become queen of the world,'' says Rose. ''But I don't think that's going to happen.''

there are a load of potential spoilers at heroeswiki

some mention a potential new baddie called Uluru who may or may not be papa petrelli. other theories are that sylar has a brother or brothers (hence the name of the shop - gray and sons) who may also have powers?

cant wait for S2 :)

some mention a potential new baddie called UluruUluru is a large blue rock monster who has appeared on the cover of one of Micah's comics, and also as a wallpaper or screensaver or something on somebody's PC. Uluru is also a name for Ayer's Rock, and there is a relationship there to dreaming.

I think it's because of the sheer amount of episodes that it feels like everything just gets drawn out too much and there's too much exposition.

I thought Shenkar was the vocalist/singer, and actor Sendhil Ramamurthy who plays Suresh does the voice over... I'm nigh certain of it.

At first, the voice-overs seemed ponderous and pretentious, but over the course of the first series I either got used to them or actually started to like them. Not sure which!

http://heroeswiki.com/Shenkar

yes it is and you are wrong :) Shenkar is the voice in the "wailing" tune that is played at various stages in the episodes and not the voiceovers at the beginning of the eps or in the season 2 trailer...

Shenkar is responsible for the vocalizations added to the opening credit music and transitions on the series Heroes. not voiceovers.

Dead due to the screen writers' strike rather than the ratings. I've enjoyed Season 2 so far and it has been getting steadily stronger although it's not had the wow factor of Season 1 but that is to be expected.

I would assume that if that NBC might not wait till next autumn for the start of season 3 when the strike lifts assuming it lasts long enough to use the alternative Volume 2 ending.

Terribly_Mauled
05-11-2007, 08:43
From US TV guide:

Sources confirm that [“Heroes”] is going back and shooting an alternate ending to the Dec. 3 episode that, if used, would allow the episode to function as a season finale in the event of a strike. Originally, the episode was only supposed to serve as the conclusion of the current "Generations" arc. Should an 11th-hour agreement be reached and a strike averted (fingers crossed!), the alt ending would likely be scrapped.

Hmm, well, this morning there IS a strike on. So expect a mere 13 episodes of Heroes this year...

TonyG
05-11-2007, 08:45
If the December 3rd episode is the season finale, then there will be only 11 episodes.

There's a rumour flying around that Tom Kring has either quit or been fired from 'Heroes' due to not being willing to make changes to the storylines on 'Heroes'. The studio want to quickly wrap up plotlines and discard others that they feel are not needed.

However I stress that it's just a rumour though at the moment.

I find it hard that has come from a show creator and if it really did I give even more kudos to Mr Kring, a show executive that actually listened, said he was wrong and where it went wrong. You don't often see that and if you do it they are usually trying to shift the blame on to someone else.

Possibly. Surprising it has fared this badly, though S2 has been very slow going and I guess people didn't want a repeat of the gentle buildup of S1, they were happy to sit through it first time round. Now they want action. Lost went the same way, dragged its arse through series two and the ratings dropped...
This can only be good news for us though.

H Dot

Good to hear from Kring that he was to blame for the silly romances and the slow build up, hopfully it will be back on track now, shame may end shortly due to the strike just as it was getting back to its best

I don't think its that, I think, season 2 has not been very good. Poor new characters have taken up time that could of been put to better use and were a waste of time tbh. I have not seen any positive comments for the blunder twins and memory girl, also everyone seems to hate the emo-flyer (claire's new "boyfriend")

season 1 had a slow build up but that was done a lot better
