Hi everyone.

I'm looking at getting a new stereo as well as getting a DVD system (need a replacement for the DVD decoder card that was in my PC). Of course it will have to be multi-region as well :)

My brother has brought a Technics SCDV250 (or something like that), which is a hi-fi, with a 5 DVD changer, plus DD5.1 sound. I was resonably impressed with the sound, and picture quality.

Are there any other systems that should be considered? I've seen something similar produced by Phllips I think, and one by JVC (sorry, can't remember the model numbers).

I would like something that has either S-Video out or RGB Scart.

I don't want to spend more than 600 quid.

Finally (yet more questions ;) ), where would you guys recommend getting a Multi-region one from?

Thanks

Gavin

Gavin,

To be honest, you should be looking at one of the Systems Sony or Pioneer make, as they basically dominate the market with their systems. Both Brands have had best buy systems in the Mags, and Pioneer "invented" the format back in 98 with the NSDV1:) You`ll get a good package for under £600 multiregion, just depends on what style and features you want. The Technics / Panasonic models are ok, but the lack of DTS on all their models is a big ommision....

Cheers
