Anyone know roughly how much EB will buy a new game back for?

Depends on the game I guess? and the format?
.. may be better selling it through classifieds or auctions if its decent?
Tell us the game and the format and we'll guess!

Ooops forgot the format!
PS2
A new game such as Agent Under Fire and an old game such as Red Faction. Just looking for a rough idea.
Cheers :)
I would sell it through Ebay or something, I bet your get around a tenner or less for a game you paid they r selling brand new for £40 -£50 via EB.

They sell pre-owned newish titles for £29.99 so I thought it would be around £20 - £25. Buying for as little as £10 is a complete rip off plus 200% profit for them!
Got £15 for Red Faction when it first came out.
Best to trade stuff on here. You could get a new game every week and only pay the postage!!
well being 'Mr Preowned' in our store i'd give £15 for a newish title and £10 for Red Faction as it's in our sale for £24.98. Red Faction would be sold for about £17.99 and the newer one for either £24.99 or £29.99 depending on how generous i was feeling!

Actually rather interesting to hear, I think everyone knows that you would get more for a game selling it privatly but I think stores like EB and GAME are othering a rather good service.
Would you give more if someone was part exchanging against another title ?
Also what about consoles and stuff ?
I have a Dreamcast, still boxed with 2 x Controllers, 2 x VMU units, 1 x official gun and 17 games, how much would that fetch ? Will there be any trade ins against the XBOX ?
well first things first (:) ) EB/GAME don't give cash we only part exchange, you cannpt get vouchers either you have to get something else at the same time.
You would probably get slightly more value for your stuff if you had a loyalty card in either store, these cost £2 and have a number of benifits which members if staff will be more than happy to tell you about (i'm not at work so i'm not going to :D )
as for the DC etc it all depends on a number of factors, this includes if all your stuff is boxed and in good condition, what games they are and if they are old/new. It also depends on the levels of stock in the shop you go to, if they have hundreds of preowned dcs then you won't get much for it. A ball park figure for the system would be 25-30, we'd probably sell it for 40 or 45.
There may be some special trade-in deals for the x-box when the release is nearer but I don't know of any at the moment. Usually they go something like console + any 5 games = £50 trade in value.
and for those who think they're loosing lot of money trading stuff in I tend to think of it in terms of two things: effort and the amount of value you feel you have got from the game. Effort to sell privately (many people can't be arsed) and the enjoyment you;ve had from the title. If you've played a game non-stop for 4 months usually you don't mind trading it in against a brand new game. Also think of it this way, if you'd have rented it'd cost you a lot more, if that makes sense!!
i hope that's answered your questions! I know one of my workmates is a lurker hereamaybe he'll chip in!
:D
You can trade in your D.C and stuff to put down your deposit on a X-Box and unlike a lot of stores you can get one without having to buy a bundle of games you do not want just make sure you reserve the games you want to avoid a long wait or disapointment on the day as Halo will go like the clappers.
