I was wondering if there are online shops where you could order electrical hardware into this country. Has anyone tried this ?

I would imagine that shipping charges and import duties kills this idea dead in the water

Just goto Richer Sounds, as most of their stuff is from abroard ;)

Shipping charges - maybe - but not necessarily huge. Duty and VAT - not payable at all if you buy from within the EEC. Germany is probably the most cost-effective country.

Take a look at www.hifi-regler.de for example. (You'll need a translator).

Loads of places in this country sell grey-imports anyway - normally the ones that are a bit cheaper than the norm.. Richers, Unbeatable, LEConcepts, Empire Direct, SDB etc.
