Connecting a V+ box to a PC

Is it possible at all to connect a V+ box to a PC to transfer off recordings? It says in the manual that you are able to connect a VCR or DVD recorder, so surely this is allowed too? I noticed there are both an ethernet socket and a USB socket. If these aren't to be used in connecting to a PC then what use are they?

i imagine the USB and ethernet are possibly for diagnostics or maybe use as a modem like some of the older boxes were but i'm not sure of their connectivity to the average pc
