Any one know if there is a version of this which comes in an amray? Its a warner title so both R1 and R2 are snappers, but is the R4 amaray?

no, the R4 is a snapper as well. even though warner stopped using them down under (well, they're village releases, but you know what i mean) many of their earlier titles were already snappers in region 4 and weren't re-issued in amaray cases.

however, about a year ago warner released 'replacement slicks' for all their region 4 snapper titles in conjunction with one of the aussie dvd info sites (can't remember which one), though they would only ship to australia or new zealand. getting your hands of one of these slicks and putting it in a blank amaray case is the only way to 'officially' own blade runner in anything other than a snapper.

there are two remaining options for you though. the first is to create your own slick and inlay sheet for an amaray, or (slightly easier) download one from the net and print it out. the second is to hold on for the special edition release later this year which, fingers crossed, might not be in a snapper case. i'm hoping for the same sort of packaging warner have been using for recent 'special' releases, e.g. citizen kane. they won't be using amaray though unless there's a major policy change in the next few months. guess it's possible that the R4 special edition will be in an amaray though.
