View Full Version : psp must have games
I have just bought a psp. I want to start by getting 5 must have games. I tend to go for sport type stuff but appreciate all great games. CAn anyone recommend the must have 5 psp games ?

LoCo Roco is the only PSP game I'd say is a must have (and I usually tend towards sports and driving games.)

Been a long time since I played it but Burnout Legends was an early game but great and had me hooked for ages.
Lumines + Loco Roco are other good purchases.
Loco Roco, Ultimate Ghosts N Goblins, Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast, Lumines 1 & 2, Every Extend Extra, Daxter, WipeOut Pure, Gitaroo Man are amongst my favourites.

Ive enjoyed Ratchet and Clank, Daxter and more recently Prince of Persia Rival Swords.
Hot Shots Golf is one must.
I recommend Syphon filter - currently playing this & enjoying it.

I can only agree with LocoRoco, Lumines & Burnout Legends.
For sheer fun, I like Ape Academy 2 - it's simple to play and an easy pick up & put down game, but that could be because I'm a complete girlie! :)
The GTA games are very good, as are Lumines, Syphon Filter, WWE, Pro Evo and Ridge Racer
however, unless you're genuinelly going to use it as a "portable" then the console versions are obviously better!

The game I have played the most (350 hours) on the PSP is Monster Hunter Freedom. It does take a lot of patience though but I'd recommend that.

Hot Shots Golf, Daxter, Burnout : Legends, Pro Evolution 6 and GTA : Vice City Stories
Get Lumines as well (this and Hot Shots Golf are my two most played games).
how about must have sports games

Besides Hot Shot Golf (my second favourite PSP game) I'm not sure there are any. I haven't enjoyed any of the football games on the PSP tbh...

Isn't Hot Shots/Everybodys Golf a sport? Or is it just a good walk spoiled ;)
Just finished Call of Duty last night (ok, it was on the easy setting) but for me its the best of the war FPS ie better than MOH and BIA

Taiko no Tatsujin (2 has more songs but I prefer #1), Exit 2, Mercury Meltdown
sports-wise:
Hot Shots golf is good.
I also thought PES was good, as are the WWE games.

Hot Shots Golf is excellent. I'm not even a fan of sports games, especially golf, but I had so much fun with that.
A PSP without Everybodys Golf is just wrong. Also loving Football Manager 07 at the moment.

Lego Star Wars
Outrun ( for basic old skool racing )
Virtua Tennis 2
Fifa ( sorry, pro evo on ps2 but on psp fifa due to online play )
Currently playing Need for Speed Own the city.
Katamari!
Just realised that's the ONLY game in years I've really enjoyed playing. Played it on PS2 and PSP. Shame the in-between bits go on so long but I love the music...

And the PSP ending is one of the all time great gaming moments :)
Agreed. Katamari is a must. Would also recommend Every Extend Extra and Luminees II if you're into puzzle games.
There's quite a range of games available in Asia that can be pretty interesting titles too if you can find English translations of manuals or have the patience to figure out the menus. Picked up a couple of decent train sims (don't snigger) and a really good Mah Jong title too.
