8pm C4. Still following the inferior 2 properties per programme format.
Grand Designs at 9pm follows Property Ladder: What a stimulating pair!
Much as I used to love this show, I hate the 2 property format which is far too superficial. And it clashes with Neneh Cherry & Sweet Baby James :p on BBC2.

If the Balcombe family make £10,000+ I'll eat my hat and all of the hats in my local vicinity
"Ra Ra Ra!" ****tards. Urgh! NO ONE EVER LISTENS TO HER!!!!!!! :brickwall
Back to Neneh!
I wish they would film a series with professionals instead of finding the most clueless first time developers they can find. I can’t see either of these making money :cuckoo:
edit: how the hell did that happen!!
Why would you have a vote or listen to your Kids about your house and the way it looks! What the hell do they know at their age about layout and if something looks right.
Sorry but i may listen to them and ask their opinion but not go with it over a designer who has done this for over 10 years or so!
They are all Idiots! :D

Are we seriously supposed to believe that the young kids are spearheading the property development? So, so fake.
Phew, now the kids have gone back to school so the adults can make the decisions!
Words fail me.

Words fail me.
I'd take them over the dumb woman with ginger hair and her idiot sun.
Edit: I actually like what they've done now except the bathroom :D

That granny-faced kid is creeping me out!!
Good to see that Beeny is bootilicious again.
I don’t get the deal with the builder. 15% of even 30k profit is only 4.5k. Is that enough for him to discount his prices upfront for such a small back-end?

Those boots at the end of the second development. :norty:
How the hell was that house worth £500,000?
That precocious kid needs to be bullied.
Dave.
The Beeny is looking unbelievably glam and sexy in the new titles.
Those kids needed a slap - especially the girl. What a precocious little madam.

She looks saucy in the titles, if a bit over done, but there are a couple of things (http://img47.echo.cx/img47/6108/sarahbeenie1127wc.jpg) I miss about her current look.

Beeny on this week’s Graham Norton show (looking v. hot) - Playing a little dumb and saying that for some reason when you google her name you get loads of references to tits! Seems like all our hard work paid off. :D
Sad news - She also revealed that she was approached by Playboy but turned them down.

I've only been watching Property Ladder for a little while but have they ever had a development which has lost or made no money?
Every one I watch seems to end in a £50k+ profit!

The couple that did up the Victorian Bakery (even though at one point there was no money left) seemed to make a mint.
How do they manage to get huge mortgages and loans to do all this and be able to make payments while the work is underway?

What has happened to this programme? I must admit I've only managed to catch the last couple (...well, the footie was on for the others) and they were both 'revisits'...I thought this was a bloody new series! I hate the revisited format of both this and grand designs, what the hell is the point, they just show virtually the exact programme as before with a pretty pointless 'update' tacked on the last couple of minutes...lazy TV at it's worst!!!
...also, what has happened to Beeny? She seems to fluctuate between 'pregnant', 'just got up' and 'I had this haircut for comic relief' persona's!!! I used to find her quite hot...and in the picture at the breaks she does look good...but, christ, she just doesn't seem to care any more
...it's also really boring now, very formulaic! :(

And GOD 4.5m worth of debt
wonder if the penthouse ever sold down in brighton?

Liked the penthose flat although not convinced about the lack of a lift. Absolutely loved the jacuzzi though :luv:

Couldn't agree more, I was expecting a new show and it's basically a repeat, C4 did the same thing with Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares last year :brickwall

The shows are now a patchwork quilt of different filming times, made even worse by the updated repeats. It’s a complete mystery to me why they don’t go back to the 1 property, 1 hour format as it would give them twice the number of shows (twice the ad revenue) for not much more effort.
Beeny is pretty foxy lately as seen when she pitched up on Norton’s show last week. Can’t really blame her for looking a bit dishevelled in the past when she’s popping out kids at a rate of knots.
Plus it must be exhausting setting all her tragic single friends up on dates!

Her hubby is a lucky sod. She’s built like a porn star and is a money-making machine to boot! Why aren’t the rest of them like that?!?!?

A new one tonight - Doing up a house-boat. Hopefully it’ll be better than the floating shanty-town from Grand Designs!

Didn't get much better about the boat but the other house was okay.
I've been thinking the guys that "made" 175k tonight haven't done all that well (IYSWIM), they'll have to pay a fair chunk to the tax man and the next house they buy will also have gone up by £100k and then if they split the profit between them, they aren't making that much (until they sell up). I don't think house price increases are helping them, it'd be nice to see where they are in a few years time.
One of the guys doing the North Greenwich house (Daryl) is a former work colleague.
Shocked to see him on TV
thought the guy who did the house-boat did a bloomin good job - expecially as it seemed to be a done all by himself (missed the boat internal fitting part - did he fit the kitchen/flooring/showers etc???)
Most of these people are making the money from House price inflation, and not really from what they do.
there's a property here that the flippers have tried to do, bought for 80k up for 115k a few months later, having been decorated and a new kitchen put in.
unfortunately for the flippers they hadn't done their research and property in this area is actually DOWN over the past 12 months (shock horror, it happens), so it's just sitting there, and sitting there. that 35k 'profit' is going to be eroded pretty quick in interest repayments etc.

I just don't find there is any drama in this program as it follows the same format every single show....
a) Introduce the developers
b) Discuss 'vision' for house
c) Argument between developers & Beeney
d) Developers do their own thing
e) Hit major snag...project delayed
f) Overcome major snag
g) Property looks great
h) Estate Agents value it at more than they expected
i) Everyone is happy
Just for once it would be nice if the developers actually lost money

Each episode will be filmed over a long period of time (probably 6 months) so her bump and bangers will change throughout the course of an episode.

Just saw this weeks episode...her bangers in the blue t-shirt were  :luv:
...the prog wasn't too bad either!
Anyone notice that the guy who gave the advice in the boatyard was the same bloke who abandoned that boat build in Grand Designs? He seemed like a good guy to be fair.

Without being bitchy, is it me or was the couple doing up the manky 2 bedroom house the most unlikely scientists of all time? :suspect:

Do they give dates when they bought and when they sold and completed on each property? With these repeats/rehashes, they're showing sales from 2005-2006 are making money, so viewers think "wow! there's still £50,000 to be made with some magnolia and sanded floors! Doesn't matter interest rates have gone up x times, we'll be millionaires if we only buy 12 flats off-plan".
Fair play, someone who'll take the risk and make the money - good on them. But C4 are being pretty economical with facts in a programme that's a major influence in people's financial planning (and don't say they don't influence people - if this type of stuff wasn't on all 5 channels for at about 3 hours a day, you think anyone would be doing up houses?)

Hmmm, good point about the timescale. It does seem to make it sound easy to make money by splashing a bit of paint about and bunging in a new bathroom/kitchen, however, it does seem most of the profit is down to the areas inevitable housing price rise than their hard work. But then they do tend to walk away with £20k+ so maybe it's worth it!!
...I s'pose you have to factor in the possibility (...and surely it has to happen eventually) of a housing price fall/crash...that's the risk! ;)
...why don't a few of us on the forums club together to buy a development, get a project manager, get tradesmen to do the actual work and then sell for a huge profit...and then sit back and count all the lovely wads of cash we'll have?

Beeny was on BBLB last week. Saucy joke at the start of the programme with Dermot offering her a banana and Beeny refusing it as she had a nice pair of melons instead (holding said mammoth fruit in front of her mammoth chest as she answered him). :D

Current More4 lunchtime repeats are of the old one property editions. Beeny in her prime back then - Very bouncy.
