doh, didnt see the other thread! :cry:I dont watch The Shield so can somebody clarify if this a new Season or a continuation of Season 5?
This is a brand new season 6...
And an excellent start it was too.
As theorised by someone clever Kavanaugh is on the dark road to destruction falsifying statements and planting evidence.
However Dutch man knows something isn't up and has proved it by requesting the traffic tapes of the cafe.
Not sure why people keep coming forward to confess to Lem's death, and wtf was the house full of dismembered bodies all about.
And Shane now knows he killed Lem for nothing...he had a moment of remorse, but then slipped back into his dark ways at the end...
Love the whole week's gap they've given it, where we're now dealing with the fall out instead of the whole funeral scenario.
Excellent, excellent as usual and straight to the top of my shows list.
Vic now knows what Kavanaugh's upto and will be going after him with both barrels. I bet he sets up him up in some way.

woot its back :notworthy
ace ep that little ******* shane better get his this season or else
Tomos why don't you label this as Season 6 episode 1 On The Jones...
That way people will know it's back on...rather than being a general season 6 thread.
What did you think of it?

Look like he was getting his at the end...:n0rty:
top stuff. Tavon needs to reappear to meat out some justice to shane (i prefer Cletus). Is the video of Aceveda still around I cant recall what happened to it.
I don't think the video is still around, but there is the fact he got Ant(w?)on Mitchell to kill the guy who took it. Vic's got an idea something happened there, and it could be used as leverage.
Beautiful stuff, well worth the wait. I had no idea how they were going to carry on from the end of 5, but a fantastic job as always.

Minor gang members taking the heat for the main suspect (even if he didn't do it) - they do the time and get to be respected men in prison. The house is a whole new case I think, doesn't tie into anything else at the moment. Anyone else think those cats were in trouble when Dutch went after them?
He's too busy thinking about the young Policewoman's pussy! (groan).
Mind you he may be seen sporting a Richard Nixon mask in the weeks to come!!

I hope this *isn't* the last season, as it just keeps getting better and better.
I had no idea Scott Brazil had died either - sad stuff - no age that :(

I thought it was Shannon Elizabeths ex fella http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0718647/
 @ Shane at the end and Dutch's catchphrase

Yeah I looked him up...
But I'm sure I saw him in Jackass 2, I will investigate.
Great to have this back & it remains brilliant as ever. Shane's Death-wish should be fun this season.

Absolutely fantastic stuff!!!
Was well worth the wait.
Easily the best show on the telly right now!
Kavanaugh is a right arse!
Watched 5 seasons of this in quick time and loving this seasons opener :D

I think it was mentioned in one of the other threads on the Shield that there was talk of a spin-off / continuation once all the Strike Team stuff is settled. I'd be wary of that, but I think given the characters and location they have set up it is feasible - they've got the uniform aspect with Julian + partner, plus the one who's just had a kid, a good detective character in Dutch, Claudette's a very strong role, and they can tie into the city-level politics (like the Wire does) through Aceveda. Wouldn't have the appeal it does now, but it could still be a very strong ongoing police drama.

Great opening.
As for being the last series, I was sure I read somewhere that Ryan had been given the go ahead for series 6 AND 7 (7 being shown next year)?
Yes, there's a seventh and final season next year.

This was a fantastic opener as expected. Did anyone else see the 'prequel' episode with the flashbacks? Was only 15 mins long but still good.
Back to the episode, i liked the 21 gun salute at Lem's gravesite. Mackey really seems to be soaking up the hate. Wouldn't want to be Shane when Vic goes off thats for sure! :D
I'll be sad to see the show finish next year, but i can't wait to see how it ends!
Back with a bang is an understatement.
Vic seems dangerously close to losing it, if he finds out who actually did kill Lem this season then I'm expecting a nasty result.
As for a spin off? I really hope this doesn't happen. The show is about Vic and the guys, the rest of them (for me) are just background characters.
Any idea when this is on TV in the UK?

Probably autumn or so.
Oh boy, this is my favorite show of all time now. That's really saving something when I love The Wire too, but this one just beats it.
They just pick up where they left off tension wise. Glad to see Kavanugh back. I was sure Whittaker was not doing another season. Of course, he may not actually last the season... But he's a great character. Looks like he is happy to play fire with fire, planting evidence and getting flase confessions. I get the feeling Ducth-boy will be the one to come to Vic's rescue. He's the smarter than Batman.
What was the Johnny Cash track at the start and end?
What was the Johnny Cash track at the start and end?
It was 'I Hung My Head' From American IV. I think it's a Sting cover.
Thanks.
Suited the opening and ending perfectly
