I'm looking for one of those all-in-one players, the ones with DD5.1 built in and all the speakers. Only after a cheapo as it's for the study/entertainment room. I did try for the £99 Grundig from Currys on Boxing day, but no luck! Is this still available? Obviously not for £99. I can't seem to find it on their website. Anyway, I'd like it to be 'multi-regional', by handset hack if poss. What do you people recommend.
Thanks, in advance.
The Goodmans 3500pk £199.99 from Comet?
dixons are selling the grundig (that was £99 at Currys) for £199. It's still quite a good deal as it comes with the surround sound speakers and can be made multi-regional via remote.
if this link (http://www.dixons.co.uk/store/martprd.dll/store/dix_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0958127795.1010873749@@@@&BV_EngineID=eadcdcijedeibedcfgmcfckg.0&page=Product&sku=300603) doesn't work, go to www.dixons.co.uk as it is on the home page.

Thanks. Just what I was looking for. I'll check whether they have it in-store first. I'm prepared to pay that price, but don't suppose you can get it cheaper elsewhere? Dixons are not usually the cheapest place.
I have not seen it cheaper elsewhere. Sorry.
Also, I have not seen a DVD player with the 5.1 surround system for £199 anywhere. The chepeast tends to be about £300, so this may not be such a bad price.
Maybe someone else can help..

On the COMET website they are selling the SONY DVP-NS400S for £219.97. It mentions that it has an integrated DD5.1 decoder. Not bad price for a big brand name DVD player. It is an internet only deal.

That's got a built in decoder only. You will still need to connect it up to an amplifier or a DD TV to benefit. I wanted one with a built in decoder and amplifier, bundled with a complete set of 6 speakers.

If you got hold of a player with a DD decoder, you might still be able to pick up one of those Bush speaker sets for 60 quid from Safeway.
