That bloody white line!

Got a Wharfedale 750 and on most of my discs (but not all) the pictures alternates between a soft white bar at the top of the picture and a tiny bit of flickering. I can live with it but please tell me my players not knackered as I've only had it for 18 months. Anyone experienced anything like it, or should I try some sort of cleaner?

I had a similar problem wih a Wharfedale 750, and again with my Panasonic RV20. It only occurs on R1 discs, and I'm convinced it's the Tv, not the player. The (4:3) Tv picture appears to be not quite straight, most noticeable when watching widescreen movies. Have you tried the player on a different set?

Sounds like 3:2 pulldown if it's only happening on R1 (ie. NTSC) discs
