Hi, I bought a Holga camera for a laugh and am having trouble with the shots. For some reason they are exposing over each other to create one very long shot. Which means when I get them back from processing they ave been cut into very small pictures.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong.

I am using 120 colour film with 16 exposures on.

Is is something to do with the slide on the back panel? Only I can't see what difference this would make.

Cheers

Jerry

What position is the 12/16 slider in?

There's a Holga reference <a href="http://www.apogeephoto.com/july2001/plastic_fantastic.shtml">here</a> too.

I'm at work and the camera is at home, so I'll have a look tonight.

If you have the 6 x 6 matte (square) in the camera set the counter to 12, if you have the 6 x 4.5 matte (rectangle) set the counter to 16. Enjoy.

Yup, if you're shooting square set the counter to 12, you're not winding the film on far enough to have gaps between the negatives. That's why they are all joined up.
Loads of info here (http://squarefrog.co.uk/holga/index.php?id=masks).
At least you're not leaving the lens cap on or forgettingto wind the film on and getting double exposures.

Cheers everyone.

Yep, it's the slide and I know understand how moving a small piece of plastic makes all the difference.

So lets have another go.

How are you getting on with your Holga, jerryg?

Once you move it to 12 exposures tape it in place, in fact tape everything in place except the focus :)

You can't put too much tape on a Holga. Get a roll of black gaffer tape and wrap it like there's no tommorrow. :D
