View Full Version : Leon (Uncut) R1 rescored?
Is it my imagination, or has the music changed when Gary Oldman and his jolly japesters mascre the family near the start? I seem to remember something more classical, but on my DVD there's an arabian themed piece playing. Plus, Mr Oldman is talking about Beethoven? Am I mad, or is this different?

That's what I always remember hearing. and the speech about Mozart and Beethoven is quite good. But then, I might be mad too. ;)

You remember Beethoven, or the arabian piece?

I just watched the scene again (mine is on the R2 integral version but it's the exact same scene I remember seeing on the original cut anyway).
the Mozart/Beethoven speech has definitely always been there. As for the slightly Arabian variation on the main theme, I'm convinced it's always been the same. But I don't have the R1 so yours might be even more Arabian.

i want to purchase a version of Leon. I have been to play and they have the international uncut version - is this the best one to buy or can you recommend another version?
thanks
its always been the same, maybe it's clearer because its been remastered................ i know, i'm obsessed with this film
The extra 24 mins or so in the long version are actually pretty good. You get to see things like Leon doing his job as if it's a boring and normal routine, etc... Although the pacing of the film is slightly slower, it's the definitive version. However, fans will want both cuts. I wouldn't be suprised if one day we see a set come out with both versions on it. Most likely this will NOT be the UK R2 release. ;)
buy the international version you fool
