Is anyone getting sick of this? Heres a few examples The Mummy no DTS track the first time round gets re issued with DTS !

The sixth sense has the same story.

And the list goes on and on, and i guess will continue to do so. Its bad enough that DVD's cost so much in the first place without having 27 versions of each film (ok im going over board here) but it seems the movie studios are just taking the *******.

Ive only just got used to region comparisons and now weve gotta do this as well. I wouldnt be so fed up if they at least waited a good few years, but there doing it so close together. One minute you think youve got the latest version, you pop it in your dvd player and youve not even finished watching the film, and theres a newer version out there.

Whats every1 else think?

I'm almost tempted to go back to the way I bought movies on VHS, i.e. wait until 12 months or so after release then order all I want cheaply because they're usually being sold off at reduced prices.

Save money and get the better version if the new anamorphic with DTS and all the extras we should have given the first time but thought we'd rip you off first then re-release this new souped-up version six months later scenario comes to pass.

Works for me. :D

purepauluk you don't need to buy every reissue.

As for the Mummy the original disc is 2 years old and you can't expect a studio to not re-release a 2 year old product, after all they are a company who main purpose is to make money.

As for Sixth Sense, the main change is extras being moved to the second disc and bitrate being maxed out on the first disc, basically making it a kind of superbits disc.

You can always sell your old version of ebay etc (some people pay more than the disc is worth)

I think most of us here are knowledgeable enough to sell on the old titles before the newer version get released. I’ve done this with a few titles and even made money out of it rather than lose.
