In reverse order (I hope I'm not going to muck this up like the Wogan/Cotton debacle last weekend):

Third Place Radiohead - Sisters

Second Place Jur@551c - Rose

First Place Miraclemaxx - Ambling in Ambleside

Three nice shots there, and a clear winner for Miraclemaxx, with a lovely sepia-ish shot, tonally balanced and compositionally spot on.

Interestingly enough, JOV, Smeggy and Soundstyle all voted for the winners in the winning order - numbers 5, 4 and 7. Well, I say "interestingly". It's the most pointless observation imaginable really, up there with "you've got the same curtain hooks as I have" in terms of mind-numbing tediousness, but there it is.

Here are the numbers from the spreadsheet:

N.b. as mentioned in the voting thread, two people managed to vote twice in this week's competition. If you're going to change your mind, please edit your original post to avoid confusion!

Cheers, good luck to everyone in this week's competition. Keep those cracking good shots coming in!

I don't think I voted in this one, but 3 great entries :) Well done to all and a big thumbs up for the top 3!

Congrats winners, and my thanks to those who sent votes my way.

My votes this week went to;

2) Cranes
I'm a sucker for a good cityscape, and I think that the crane is as much a totem of the 21st century British city as anything else is these days. I thought the placement of these beasts in the frame, and the exposure of the sky around them was very nicely handled indeed. Nicely judged mono conversion too, I thought.

7) Sisters
I'm surprised this didn't place higher, if I'm honest - we don't get much portraiture in the weekly, and I thought this a particularly good example, great tonality, super catchlights in the eyes and two appealing subjects.

11) Daffys by the Steam
Well stone me, it's a Wishy - and in living colour too! Great depth of field, lovely colour in the daffs and I thought the way the frame faded out of focus into the blurred highlights of the top left corner was lovely.

Mine this week was "Modern Life is Rubbish" - essentially me messing about with my new uniloc tripod. I'm still not sure that this shot has anything in particular, but for some reason it leapt out at me this week. I think what I liked was the slight naffness of it all, the mik jug instead of a proper vase, the slightly lumpy wall etc.

Cheers for the votes and congrats to the runners up.

I had just bought a neutral density filter the day before so spent all weekend taking photos of anything water related!
I thought the sepia effect gave it an olde world look which I quite liked

I'm away from tomorrow till Sunday so any entries sent over the weekend may not get a response till the monday.

Thanks again

Rob

I was sure someone voted for mine!

Ah, was it one of the ones that someone voted twice on?

Mine was Spidey, which now has no votes... perhaps my spidey powers mis-read it
