Thats way too expensive for a PC without a monitor if you ask me.

Dell (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?p(702)a(60823)g(19472)) and the likes have really overtook these deals in the past few years :(

I can never make a Dell setup that matches the above (usually gfxcard is crap and not upgradable) or if you can the only way to match the price is by cutting the warranty cover to 1yr RTB.

Just been on the phone with a nice woman at Crucial (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-582776-10401721) and it seems a further 1GB will cost a bargain £39.94, part number CT12864AA53E.

Yeah when I was looking at the spec of the machine I thought it needed double the RAM.

Also does anyone know if there would be much speed difference between my current machine (3.2GHz Pentium HT, 1.5G RAM, 128MB GeForce Graphics) and this one?

Cheers

The software bundle looks like a lot of junk to me? As was said before, this is very poor value for a PC with no monitor.

And as I said before, I've yet to see a similar spec-ed PC with 3 yrs warranty for the money.

How often are these Aldi PC deals? When was the last one?

My dad and brother both got one of the last Aldi PC deals. My Dad's is still fine (though incredibly noisy), but my brother had nothing but problems with his and ended up getting a refund after a couple of months. He bought a Dell in the end and it's been fine for him.

So is this a good spec for the price then?

Whereas the Aldi PC I got a few years back was far more reliable than my current Dell, which has had most of its innards replaced! (thankfully under warranty). The Dell kit we have at work is pretty mediocre too unfortunately. Dropped the ball big time. :(

I just priced up a Dell one. Slightly worse graphics card on Dell but you get a 22" TFT screen. The Aldi one does not seem like a bargain at all.

Wouldn't mind a code or a link to this as I can't find anything like this for the price!

Does anyone have a phone number for Aldi at all as looked all over their website and not a thing. I know you can not contact individual stores by phone but want to know if they can check for stock at a store if I ask them?
I want the Hard drive to plug into a PC I got from them before but been to the nearest one to work and they were sold out. :(

I bought this PC from ALDI in Nov 05 and bought a 20.1" widescreen dell tft from aria for £215inc vat to go with it. The PC by itself is impressive, i've had no problems with it and it still runs well for me now although im going to have to get another 1gig of RAM but thats all thats needed. Its silent and i never turn it off, running it 24/7. The case looks pretty slick with buttons on the side for the cd drives to open. But then if it was £450 i think it wud be wroth it but £550s abit too much. I think it was £699 wen i got it which is a year n nearly 6months ago. But aldi's return policy trumps anythiing else. If your not happy feel free to take it back.
