View Full Version : Battlestar Galactica 319 Crossroads (1) **SPOILERS**
Annoying lawyer minus sunglasses = interesting character. I couldn't stand the guy last week; this time I was rivetted.
So... what's with all the music? I guess it's hinting at one obvious thing, but I'll spoilerise the speculation:the ship is emitting a tracking signal which can only be heard by the Cylons. The implication: Sam, Tori and Tigh are among the boxed five. Heck! Could it be true?
Roslin's vision was interesting... the only other people in the dream were females with Cylon blood who were currently aboard the fleet. Is she tuning in to some sort of collective Cylon unconscious?
Really looking forward to next week! But I think I'll stay out of this thread all the same... the 318 thread had a few finale spoilers which I only avoided by seeing the posts after moderators had swiftly hidden them (thanks!). I can't risk having this spoiled. :dork:

Hehe, that was my bad, apologies again!
But even so, they were kinda non spoilers, mainly the fact that we're going to find out that there are some Cylons on Galactica, and we find out the result of Baltar's trial
The big blocks earlier on were MUCH worse! Its quite depressing though that they're legitimate - I would have thought Sci Fi would have had this all under a much tighter leash, for such big revelations.
the promo at the end confirms one of the spoilers
anders saying 'it's true we are cylons
Certainly an improvement over recent episodes but still lacking something, and I dont mean space battles. Tigh's further decent into madness is more chucklesome than disturbing. The President's drug & cancer reveal was an interesting surprise however.
The combination of something said during the clip from next week's episode & the "music" heard by certain individuals throughout this episode leads me to speculate that Anders, Tigh & Tori are Cylons! .... YIKES!

Personally, I think it would have been better to show both halves of this episode over 2 hours, to get everything out in the open...

I thought it was good but it should of been shown with the 2nd part. Liked the scenes with six and colonel eyepatch and the scene with apollo questioning laura
Make sure to tune in next week to see if Tigh can make those kids next door turn their music down.

not watche dit yet until tonite, but in the teaser trailer to the second half of the season it stated in the voiceover "One Will Die, One Will Realise they are a Cylon and One WIll find Earth so that's one person not 3....
Do you reckon they just put the names of who will turn out to be a Cylon in a big tombola, as that's the feeling I get. PS. This is all pure speculation not spoilers as I haven't the foggiest about next weeks.

speculation spoiler
the 3 might not be cylons, they might of been brainwashed while on new caprica (Tigh when he was captured, anders, when he was sick) etc The music acts a trigger to sabotage the ship. Probably wrong but
Does that Laura is going to die? (there was the references to the dying leader not making it to Earth. Maybe she will get her own show where you she hunts half cylon, half human people and drains their blood ;)

My show is back!!!!! :notworthy
Isn't amazing just how much better BSG is when there are Cylons present in all their sexy scary glory.
Good points:
Caprica6 and Tighs confrontation
chip!Baltar
Cylons
no sunglasses
Bad points:
Trial, due process, hearsay, Adama's on different sides.
Helo gets yet another job.
Lee and Bills argument
Drunk Tigh falling apart AGAIN
Don't know what to make of Helo's storm coming comment, nor where it comes from.
How many spotted Anders is now a pilot in training, rather than the Marine lots of us thought he'd become.
The fact that Laura's no longer in remission is required given that the Scriptures are true predictions and that the fleet does appear to be on the right track to find Earth
Still can't get other the fact that one of the key witnesses, ie Adm Adama is actually on the bench as a Tribunal member.
Given this vast improvement I'm going to forgo any more spoilers, can't wait for next week.
Edit:
This was an excellent opener for a two parter, not the usual dull set up we often get with all the thrills in the second part.

Multiple sources who've seen part 2 confirm it's 4 people. As..
The four are drawn to a room where they all realise they're Cylons - the clip in the promo from Anders is from that scene.
Because I'm weak and stupid, I already knew what was going to happen in this episode and the next. Initially hated the concept, but I think this episode was just so much better than the rest of the season that they might just pull it off. Though it's a shame we had to put up with crap like The Woman King and A Day In The Life just to get to the good stuff.
Very interesting episode. Now ...
No one as far as I know if confirmed as Cylon, they just think they are, doesn't mean they are. It could be a massive 'curveball'. If they are the final 5 (and we're taking Starbuck to be the 5th) has it ever actually been confirmed the final 5 and boxed 5 are one and the same? Overall there is a lot, a big lot that could be done with this.

I'd agree with that - I'd had...
Tyrol & Starbuck
down as Cylons from the start of the season - the former since S2 with the episode with Brother Cavell. It's all fitting into place now.
Having seen the episode now, I'm inclined to believe the spoilers for part 2 - there are some extremely detailed write-ups on both episodes floating around the net, even down to specific lines of dialogue, nearly all of which turned up correctly in this ep.
Great ep, btw.
Considering the final five and the one that shall not be named seem to also be in Colonial religion then something much more is going on here than simple Cylons.

Well, according to two write-ups, one of them actively rejects the notion - but you're right, the question is left hanging...apparently.

Why have people stopped tagging spoilers?
Why have people stopped tagging spoilers?
No idea, they should be used when discussing anything about future plot lines even if it is just a guess at something that might or might not happen.

did I miss the fact that the missing 5 were boxed? I thought they were renegades, out there somewhere, scaring the other cylons.... Damn. That kills a lot of my theories...
The other 5 cylons were forbidden to be known about by the others I think by the Creator which is why XenaBot got removed earlier in the series. Not sure it was ever said that they were boxed for being naughty.

That the missing 5 were boxed was speculation to explain their abscence, it was never confirmed on the show. Now the missing 5 are called the final 5 and are acknowledged by the 7 as unknown to them and to the Colonials.
IIRC it came from an interview with Grace Park where she mentioned boxing. With hindsight she may have got the fate of 3 confused with the 5

Heres some more rampant speculation on my part regarding the final five. Exactly why is it the other seven aren't allowed to speak or know about them? The fact that they're rebels is a good idea, but maybe the other is down to the fact that (speculation, but kinda spoilerly) They're imperfect machines, but perfect humans. The identity of one of the final five confirms that he/she has actually aged physically. Can the other seven do this? Are the 5 simply such good impressions of humans that they have developed they're own free will and rebelled against the Cylon high command, or have malfunctioned in some way, like D'Anna?

I thought it was an Ok episode, the best bits were certainly where the Cylon were around. The best bit being seeing 3 ships on the rador screen and they just made the jump to escape. The rest of the show was average at best.

This is probably to late but anyway, people who are spoiler free should avoid this weeks podcast as Ron lets slip something not revealed till next week.
There's something subtle going on - the lawyer appears to be able to read Tigh's mind, and so does the 6 they have captive....that's assuming the 'phantom' Baltar doesn't have some other way of getting information, if he even exists. He managed to fill the 6 in with information about Tigh losing Ellen that the 6 couldn't have known on her own.
The lawyer also knew about Tigh's wife's death and how it came about, and that was after mini-Adama refused to tell him the details.
Add the music in, and I'm guessing that Ty's brain is leaking information.
I can't remember who was tested by Baltar in the earlier series. His Cylon test was actually accurate wasn't it?

His Cylon test was actually accurate wasn't it?Yes, but once he worked out Boomer was a Cylon he decided that everyone else would test as human. Whether he actually tested anyone else for real is unknown.

That was a proper kick ass episode. As has been mentioned before, the lawyer character suddenly became interesting and acted superbly without his stupid sunglasses on.
I loved all of this episode, especially Tigh and Six in the prison cell. Very excited about the finale next week now.

Roslin's vision was interesting... the only other people in the dream were females with Cylon blood who were currently aboard the fleet. Is she tuning in to some sort of collective Cylon unconscious?I read that as being symbolic of the importance of Hera to both Roslin and Athena. The Pres knows now that she needs the kid's blood periodically to survive (ie it wasn't a permenant cure) and she fears that the parents may not allow it. I think this is what Helo's 'storm' comment was at least partially motivated by as well - we got a shot of his reaction to Roslin's confession.
Liked it a lot. A proper pot boiler.

Yes we do have Sky ...
And what's with BSG 2.5 ???? - I don't know ?? do I have to get it for her on DVD - she's not aware of it's existnace at the mo ....

In regards to BSG 2.5, season two was split into two halves when it was originally aired on US TV, and the DVD boxsets have reflected this by being released in two part (2.0 and 2.5).
Season 3 is currently airing on Sky One on Tuesday evenings, and they are half way through so she's missed quite a bit.
Don't let her jump in the middle of Season 3! Lots has happened.
She'd be best to wait for the DVD release now.

Bit of news from the official website:
"SCI FI has renewed Battlestar Galactica for a full fourth season, commissioning 22 hour-long episodes of "the best show on television." This will include a special two-hour extended event that will air during fourth quarter 2007 and be released on DVD by Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Production will resume in May with an eye toward a early 2008 season premiere."
Presumably this means another 20 episode season, with the other two being the "extended event". Looks like the move to Sunday nights was a success!
