Well, I find myself immensely surprised that an episode about Clark and Lana's relationship could turn out to be the best episiode of the season so far.

FINALLY we actually see the whoe relationship take a massive (if very dark) step, with Lana knowing almost everything about Clark (and I loved the slight way they showed this - especially Clark "disappearing") but unable to say anything. The whole Lionel thing has actually raised my interest in the series by quite a large degree.

Quite astonished that a series that was annoying me so much in its early episodes has turned things around so much...

Lana gets proof on Clark's ability, but is forced to marry Lex, and Lionel also knows about the dodgy baby - interesting.
The way they did it - cack.

I don't know why I put myself through this 45 mins of ***** each week.

At least there was no Jimmy Olsen..

'Heroes' really shows this program up.

Lionel rocked in that episode, that whole tangent is brilliant.

No Lois "Cleavage" Lane
No Jimmy

I guess I'm ambivalent towards Lana going through with the wedding to protect Clark.

Thought it was by far the best episode of the season and shows what Smallville can be when its at its best. I guess we'll have filler eps until the finale now though.

really shouldn't waste your time then.

Although I agree Heroes is far superior, this episode was still very good. So far, season 6 is far more interesting and enjoyable than season 5 which is good news for the future. I don't like Lana as a character, but glad she finally knows about Clark

how is this show supposed to develop into "Superman"? Or do they never intend for it to get that far, as there's no way for Clark to maintain an alter-ego in this alternate incarnation
(on that note, it seems season 7 may be the last, so they would have to build up to something special. I don't think there'd be any legs for the show without Lex: http://www.tvsquad.com/2007/02/21/michael-rosenbaum-leaving-smallville-after-next-season-report-s/ )

Good to see Lionel back to doing what he does best & a Lana-heavy episode that was very watchable & didn't make my eyes roll like usual. You have to feel sorry for the poor baby though, constricted in that corset ..... just how many months is she along & still not showing?!?

Ahh, that makes sense now. I thought that they had forgotten to put in the special effects for that scene. I wondered how they'd manage to let something like that fall through the cracks.

What have you guys been smoking? I agree the series as a whole has been pretty impressive this year but this seemed like all the Clark/Lex/Lana soap-opera rubbish that's been blissfully missing from most episodes this season all shoved into one episode. It bored me to tears really. The non-linear Boomtown-esque narrative seemed quite clever at first until it became clear it was there to pad out the episode as there wasn't enough content.
Sure there were some interesting revelations: Lionel is still pretty evil and Lana now knows Clark's secret, but... well we mostly knew that already. I was just praying for a meteor-freak of the week to show up and blow something up just so something would *happen*.

Even Joss Whedon knew he couldn't get away without having at least one fight scene in Buffy's The Body, and Smallville is nowhere near that level of dramatic brilliance. Quite possibly the nadir of the show so far in my opinion - if I want teen drama I'll go watch one of the 27-odd series of Dawson's Creek or Hollyoakes.

Just hoping by devoting an entire episode to it they've got this plot line out of thier systems and can finish up the season with something good...

I'm a sucker for the eps where people find out about his powers.

I thought Lionel was supposed to be a good guy these days?

Just watched the trailer for next week, it looks terrible!

Must admit, I got to ep 10 (ish) and then gave up. Wasn't enjoying the 45 minutes each time and would rather watch Heroes, Prison Break, House, etc.

Mind you, threads like this saying how good the last ep was don't help! I think I might just read episode guides to see what happens, rather than invest more time in the show.

Been watching since S1 and I quite enjoyed it, although only up to about S4. Think it's pushing it now IMO.

She just thinks now he is a meteor freak - she doesnt know the real secret i.e. he is an alien and (pretty much) responsible for the death of her parents.

I liked this episode. Sure there was a lot of repeated content to fill out the episode, but watching the cellar scene again from Lana's perspective was cool, and nice one on her for orchestrating that whole scene to finally see Clark in action.

I also liked the idea that Lana now knows but Clarke doesnt know she knows. Its a good twist on the idea and I certainly didnt see Lionel coming out like that! I thought he was good, but damn, he's back to psycho evil dude. But then if he is, why hasnt he done anything with the knowledge about Clarke?

Well he knows his weakness and he knows the leverage he now holds over Lana...

Knowledge is power...having Clark still trust him and keeping his mom close are all very good plus points.

Thought it was a very good episode myself...Lana has finally admitted the truth to herself that she doesn't love Lex, but is now stuck in a loveless marriage.

Plus we've still got the reveal on what's up with the baby, and what Chloe's superfreak power she'll use to sacrifice herself for Clark is...(Just guessing...)

that was a great ep. lana finally gets what she deserves for being such an insipid loser for 6 years.

lionel is BAAAAAAAACK! lex is like a wet flannel next to the real b(d)addy.

Unexpectedly awesome. I usually like to eat my tea whilst watching Smallville, as nothing interesting happens. By the end of the episode, I hardly ate a thing. Never before have I been so engrossed in an episode.
