Swap them for magic beans.
Or Virtual Console titles, whichever you prefer.

Anything cheap to buy with them? All the batteries are out of stock :(
edit: went for the £1.49 WOW 14 day trial (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?p(12813)a(60823)g(80187)url(http://www.game.co.uk/ViewProduct.aspx?cat=11144&mid=329383)). The points will come in handy when I finally get a Wii :p
It says "Out of Stock" for me, I must be to late.

Apparently (according to my mate who owns every Nintendo game) VIP points expire a year after they are put on the site. Any older than a year expire at the end of the year.
My guess is they'll be allowed sometime in 2008, when some people won't have 45,000 points

Hi, rbullivant is correct, read the 'III. Introducing the Nintendo Loyalty Program' section on this link:

That must be a new thing - I'm sure that didn't happen before. Bit naughty of them really! :oh-hum:
Hmm...I hope Nintendo are not thinking of introducing the Star points for Wii points after the 31 December 2007. A lot of people would be seriously ticked off by that including myself!

The Stars expire 12 months after they have been earned, so that unredeemed Stars which are older than 12 months will be deleted from your account. Stars you have earned before the introduction of the new Terms and Conditions expire 12 months after the introduction of the new Terms and Conditions so at the latest on 31 December 2007.
This will explain why my ones from 2005 are still on there then. I only have 2,225 at the moment, but maybe about 3000 if I put in my DS games and the like.
So if I don't register any of my games until I'm ready to use the points... !!!
Wonder what will happen with old games being picked up on ebay that still have the opportunity to register points on the Nintendo site. I assume as soon as you register them, you then get 12 months.

Problem is anything decent on the site goes very quickly, so by the time you've typed in 5000 points worth of codes then they'll probably have nothing left.
Feel sorry for Flukeman, he has about 40,000 points

The stars cat is pretty crap, if you check out other European countries stars catalogues, they ALWAYS have actual things to get, not just stupid wallpapers! Besides all that, the last thing I bought from the catalogue nevedr arrived!
Might try to get into GAME this weekend though, and pick up some points incase something I want goes on the VC (fingers crossed for Waverace)

This offer is still on until tomorrow, I think.
Finally popped into my local GAME and managed to get two lots of Wii points (4000) for £15.98! The offer works on itself! :p
I had a look in the one in Romford but the price tag was the same as usual...

Didn't for me, at least I did it buy getting 2 of the Wii points boxes and 1 piece of crap game for 99p. It wouldn't knock the price off the second one.

That's weird - I asked the girl on the till if she would try it and it went through ok.
My till receipt lists two Wii points cards at £14.99 each and then two 'When Bought Withs' at 1p each, which takes a promotional saving of £14.02 off the total.
i take it you need a classic controller to play these games you can buy with points?

Some use the Wii controller (usually the older NES games), most you can use the gamecube controllers on too.

They still at this price then?
Are there signs up or stickers on the cards to say the price?
Someone on another forum checked the commercial handout and reckons that this deal is on until 25th of April. Can anyone else confirm this?

They have stickers on the cases saying £7.99 when bought with anything else in store.
Does anyone else think a full DVD case for these things is a bit OTT?

In almost all cases, instore Game (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?p(12813)a(60823)g(80187)) promotions run from a Thursday and then generally end on a Wednesday - it'd therefore be my assumption that, if it still works (i.e. autodiscounts on a till, not manually changed by the spotty teen serving you) today, it'll probably still be going until at least next Wednesday.
Does anyone else think a full DVD case for these things is a bit OTT?
Yeah, I think it's ridiculous - the dummy cardboard CD just looks silly too. I don't know why they couldn't have just had the Wii points as a plastic card. I've now got 4 Wii points cases and I don't really want to throw them away!
Yeah, having a whole case is a bit of a waste, but I suppose it saves buying spare cases if you ever get a broken one through the post.
Thanks to the OP - popped down to Game in Chiswick this lunchtime and even though they had to go round the back to get me 2 x 2000 points the offer worked - was relieved the store was selling 98p xbox extension controllers and that was the only thing in store less than £3.99 - so i got two!

In Manchester Game (the new one) they let me buy two of these with the second one counting as the "any other item in store". I therefore didn't have to buy anything I didn't want just to make the deal work. I couldn't do this online, the website insisted that the other item was a different product.
I asked if I could do that and was laughed at by both the manager and the lass serving me, gits.
I got three. They had a 3 for 2 offer on PS1 games so I got 3 games for £2 and 3 points, £26 in total and then gave the games back.
Then I got home and saw "UK only" on the back! Anyone know if that's true or are they just saying it to stop you from using it on imported Wii's?

Had to point out to the girl that served me that there was a discount on the Wii points card !!!
Still half the price of buying them via the Shopping Channel .... now if only I could connect to the Shopping Channel to register the points !!!

Lol, if they are regionalised I'm not going to sell them for £30 when they're worth £45+
You can hardly sell them for £15 each, that's how much they are new.

True, but I'm sure I could get £40
None in stock in Game MK. A real shame.
