Remember 18x12" and 16x12" are always £1 each at Pro Am (http://www.proamimaging.com/pricelist.html).

Am very tempted to get a 30x20" print though. Would a 7.1MP image look okay at this size?

tried to use photobox, but when entering the discount code got

"You have entered an offer code which has already been entered or is not valid. If you have already entered your offer code, then you don't need to enter it again."

shows price as £18.99 not £6.99

Pro-Am prints are fantastic quality but do involve a lot of setting up by the end user to get exactly what you want out.

My photobox order has shipped already so I'll be keen to see how it looks.

Gone for this - I've split a panorama into 3 20"x16" singles.

 to Photobox, I put my order in and I've just got a dispatch email - 19 minutes after I ordered

Photobox are great for this sort of thing. I have a 7.2MP Sony and a shot I took at Le Mans came out looking like some professional promotion piece at 30x20". I can't take photos to save my life but was well impressed by the end product. Would be tempted to get this again but don't have anywhere left to hang!

Another thumbs up for pro-am, my family now have a few framed A3 prints I did. Fantastic quality. Also at this price photobox A2 prints are great quality.

Nice one, I had one of these done with one of the deals from last year and it looked superb. They tend to dominate a wall though so I will have to make sure I've got a suitable space before ordering!

What's the minimum resolution people would recommend before they start looking a bit blurry?

Great spot. Was thinking about getting some done on canvas, but that is expensive.

Anyone know where to get decent A2 frames cheap? :D

I've ordered 4 more prints today. I have them all over the house already, but there's always room for more. They get oohs and aahs when friends come round too!!

Edit: Oh, I should say I get 30''x20'' frames from Max Speilman/ClickPhoto for £5.

Cheers.

I just had a play with their site, and I couldn't see exactly how the picture would be cropped, whereas with Photobox it was very clear

edit - actually, I can see how its cropped, but they don't give me any option in how its cropped, whereas Photobox did. I know I could crop it myself, its just I found Photobox more userfriendly

Clip frame, perspex fronted. £5.

And just had an email to confirm dispatch. Well under two hours from ordering. :notworthy

My first 30x20" from Photobox turned up today. I sized the picture to 30x20" in PS Elements and then ticked the shrink to fit button at checkout and it arrived with a thin white border around the picture - is that normal or did I mess up somehow?

Probably the photo wasn't exactly 1:1.5 ratio :|

If anyone wants a simple programme to make a life poster i downloaded Life Poster Maker, a sharteware programme that costs $25. HOWEVER without unlocking the programme it still has great funtionality and you can drag and drop the images into a template and save the poster. The programme allows you to make lots of variations with the template structure and you can even crop/rotate the pictures.

But it was (and the border was around the whole picture, not just the top/bottom)...

Probably photobox then. Drop them an email and ask why. Service has always been good for me!

Yeah, if you're certain of the ratio then it could just be a mis-aligned bit of paper. You should be able to get it reprinted.

I got this to an extent. A thin white border on the bottom of the print. I thought I'd sized it right but after upload they offered the cropping dialog, so I chose the way I preferred it, keeping the height and losing some width (landscape orientation). Not sure why there should have been a border as there was plenty of 'picture' to play with.

I asked for matt finish but it appears slightly glossy. Might be a silly question but how glossy is gloss finish? or How matt should a matt finish appear?

Quite impressed with their delivery, ordered Saturday afternoon and it turned up Tuesday morning.

I think it was the "shrink to fit" box. I'd have thought that since the image was sized to 30x20 that no shrinkage was necessary, but never mind. I've ordered another one and left the box unticked so we'll see when it turns up. Of course, by the time it does the offer will have finished...

It says you need to unlock the programme to print images via any other online printers as opposed to their company of choice. Odd thing is I just saved the file as a jpeg and voila... Im not sure im missing any of the functionality.

Cheers Poster. Given them a go. Never done any online printing before so am looking forward to seeing the results. Went for three nice big pictures in the end. One of my baby daughter, so the Mrs will be happy when they arrive and forget I've just blown more money on the bargain forum :D

Thanks for the heads up on the frames.

Did you hang 30"x20" prints in them? I found that my print was slighlty bigger than the frame and I don't really want to have to cut a bit off (mainly because I'll not do it straight).

Can anyone recommend a cheapish frame for 30"x20" prints? Not looking for anything fancy only somewhere to display it.

when you order, you choose where to crop the image, if you don't it does a not-so-good automatic job.
