Hello Saferide

Swedish sensation Hello Saferide is (are?) back in London to play an acoustic set at Fly on April the 5th supporting shouty Icelanders Jakobinarina ( a very odd combination) and also to headline two nights at Water Rats on the 14th and 15th of May.
I love the "Introducing" album and really enjoyed her Water Rats performance last year so will hopefully make all three dates.

Heard the b-side to the new EP on Steven Merchant's 6 Music show a couple of weeks back. Sounded ace, and have listened to the tracks over at Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/saferide) now too. Good stuff.

Bumping this as Water Rats is next week.

I made the trip from Liverpool for the Monday Water Rats show (had to get back so couldn't do Tuesday). Although she had a cold and struggled on some of the high notes, it was still one of the best live shows I've seen in ages.

Maia Hirasawa was very good too, and the other Swedish support act, Raymond and Maria, were brilliant. There's something in the water in Sweden just now, with all of these plus Jens Lekman, Billie the Vision and the Dancers, I'm from Barcelona, David & The Citizens etc.

I only managed to go last night.I banged into one of my friends who was also there on Monday.he was raving about Raymond and Maria.
I thought Maia Hirasawa was brilliant.I managed to buy her album as she had a copy with her.

Nice pics. Merchant seems to have taken to Saferide - he played the A-side ('I was definitely made for these times') on his show last week, after playing the B-side a couple of weeks ago.

I saw her again at the great escape festival in Brighton last night.
She was playing on a big stage stage and it really suited her and her band.

It's an odd video for a great track, concerning the loss of ones virginity!
