View Full Version : Guaranteed Floor Filler tunes suggestions please!
hi
a mate of mine is moving to bolivia at the end of the week and there is a going away party for him... about 200 folk with ages ranging from 16/17 to his parents age and we want them all to be up on the dancefloor!
there is going to be a DJ but we want to give him a list of tunes.
need some classic recommendations please please please.
thanks
I went to my little Cousins 18th bash a few weeks ago. I was expecting it to be full of the normal 'boom boom' dance stuff, but it was a good mix of new and old. I was quite surprised that the young un's loved the following tunes that were played so much - but it goes to show that a god tune is a good tune:
Bryan Adams - Summer of 69
Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl
Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer
Chesney Hawkes - That song he did.. can't remember it's name
Bee Gees - Staying Alive
Steelers Wheel - Stuck In The Middle With You (worth it jsut to see someone pretend to cut someones ear off Reservoir Dogs Style!)
Foundations - Build Me Up (Buttercup)
The Monkees - anything by them really
Beach Boys - I Get Around
James Brown - Sex Machine or I Feel Good
Rolling Stones - Satisfaction (Good at getting some drunk to do a Jagger impression!)
Sam & Dave - Soul Man
'Lady Marmalade'
I've had to edit this to add this last one. Don't know how I forgot this one because I made an absolute tit out of myself dancing to it:
The Proclaimers - 500 Miles :notworthy

Most Madness songs tend to get blokes up dancing who wouldn't usually.
Also, and I realise I could get shot down for this but YMCA? Always happens - everyone moans, but after a few beers, most people dance.
Mogwai - My Father, My King

I always thought it's the stuff of your school disco's that make the best floor fillers - so junior disco late 70's early 80's Madness, Specials Ska revial etc, Soft Cell Tainted Love, but there was the 'metal' bit which normally meant Bat out of Hell or the Quo - or top novelty records...
