The worldwide rights to the forum's favorite R0 import Shanolin soccer belong to Miramax/Disney and perhaps not surprisingly ( given what they've done to the Jackie Chan back catalog ) it looks like there working there evil on it.

For a start it's not called Kung Fu Soccer!

so was ShaNOlin Soccer a deliberate mistake :D as an example of BVs incompetence? ;)

The only good news is that Stephen Chow is campaigning to get the film released in its original language rather than the Dub BV are considering.

ooh - forgot, just in case people don't have a clue what this is all about checkout my review of Shaolin Soccer (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/index.cgi?page=Review&id=324&story=2272)

Forget Shaolin Soccer. Check out the interesting hidden link in the Ain't it cool article (http://aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=11197) .

A must for Audrey Tautou (Amelie) fans everywhere.

It kind of defeats the movie if it is called 'Kung-Fu Soccer' as it is about a Shaolin Monk wanting the art of Shaolin to be more high profile!

Was there any doubt though that this movie was going to get destroyed by Miramax??

Remember that Speed gag from Father Ted. I think i'll update it for 2002

"The films about a SHAOLIN monk, who want's to make SHAOLIN a more popular religion, so to do so he teams up with some SHAOLIN monks to play SHAOLIN soccer."

"So whats it called?"

"Kung fu soccer."

Wasn't that gag used in The Simpsons instead/as well? It went something (not exactly) like this:

Homer: I saw this movie last night. It was about this bus that was SPEEDing around this city becasue it had to keep its SPEED above 50, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode!!! I think it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down".

Maybe it was used in both shows, but I'm pretty sure that The Simpsons did it first. However, FT did have the ace milk-cart gag.
