I have 3 sets of Office 97, all in the original packaging, shrink wrapped with the retail price sticker still on.

So I put one on eBay, today I get told the auction has been removed on Microsoft's request because they claim it is pirate/bootleg software.

They never contacted me, I could have gave them the full details.

Anyone else been through this and sorted it out?

Thanks

Unfortunately as far as I am aware there is very little you can do about it. ebay will refer you to MS. Unless you get permission from MS to sell them and can then prove this permission to ebay, every time you relist them and they are reported they will be removed, which leaves you facing a strike/ban for repeatede offences.

Catch 22 really, it happened to me with some dvd's, the distributor claimed they were pirates as they were not released in the UK yet, even though they were described as R1- US, Canada release

You would think that "innocent until proven guilty" should apply, after all there is a specific ebay heading for office and there were 39 other listings when I last looked.

Why me?

Why me?

Two possible reasons

1. Reported by a competitor
2. VERO

Whatever, I'd recommend against relisting them, unless you want to made NARU.

Been through the same with Tom Tom software. My software was completely legit & registered on their own site but neither they nor Ebay were interested in this. Every e-mail I sent Ebay was replied to by script with the gist being that if a manufacturer requests removal under VERO, Ebay comply - no questions asked.

Try selling in the classifieds here as you will get nowwhere with Ebay.
