That looks like a nightmare to me. Primal Scream, Babyshambles, Editors and the Mondays are the only thing that appeal

Hmm, wasn't expecting the Foo's but I think I've seen them too much - starting to get a bit 'samey'.

Pink?!

Want to see all those apart from Skag Head drongo and his merry band along with James, Killers and the Foos.

Seeing as Virgin are sponsoring it i'm surprised the Chillis' aren't there. Mind you with all the royalties Virgin must pay them for playing a RHCP song at least every 10 minutes, every day, they probably don't need the money.

Without a doubt Truck is the best festival in the UK apart from Glastonbury - I bang on about this every year here, I've been to the last 8 of them (used to live a lot closer) and highly recommend it

Yellow is quite far from the actual site.

Blue and Red are where it's at.

Is everyone else the same?

you pick your field when you get there.. The colour of the tickets are irrelevant...

02-08-2007, 13:25
Actually you don't just pick the field when you get there.

My tickets says hylands campsite which is completety different to the yellow campsite which is privately and leased out to V.

Hylands is the red and blue campsite.

yep there are showers in all the campsites, not to bad for festivals, if you go before 8am pretty easy just breeze through.

nothing goes on after hours though, apart from sitting around tents. the bars in the campsites stay open till about 1 then thats it...

just to confirm the colour on your tickets do matter when camping, if you have yellow they are in a different field the red and blue campsites are the 'official' V campsites both much of a muchness but the blue campsite is usually full pretty quickly as it is by the main entrance and is slightly smaller than the red site.

2. drink is it a issue takin it with us ?You can take it into the campsites but not the arena, unless you manage to sneak it in4. items of value ie phone and money, always keep on me ? Yep, although there are apparantly lockers, they'll no doubt be very expensive as this is V
5. the car park is it a hike to campsite as we have a 6 men one thanks to the bargin forum and quite heavy ? It probably depends on which car park and which campsite you are in but as a rule of thumb its normally a LONG way. last year I was at chelmsford in the Yellow campsite and i'd say it was a 15 min walk from car park to campsite, and the same again to get into the arena.

Anyone else go?

Went to Weston Park, mud was a real pain in the arse to be honest. Spoilt it a bit for me. Kasabian and Killers were both pretty good but I think the TV coverage theses days means that half way through I felt like i'd seen it all before so I wandered off and caught the end of Graham Coxon who was pretty good.

Sunday I caught a bit of the Fray (pretty boring TBH) and the end of Beverly Knight who drew a massive crowd and was excellent. Editors were on form but standing in the rain just gets on your wick after a bit.

On the night I saw one of my favourite bands ever the Happy Mondays pull a corker out of the bag. Had seen them support Oasis at the Reebok in 2000 and were dire but they were bang on last night.

Went straight to see the Foo Fighters then who stormed it and they are one of those bands you just don't realise how many good songs they have until they deliver one after each other like they did here. Dave's mum even popped up on stage!

Just enough time to catch the last two Primal Scream tracks and the JJB tent was rocking. Bobby Gillespie looked genuinely overwhelmed by the crowds reaction at the end.

Packed all the stuff away on Sunday afternoon and slept in the car til 5am then drove home with no hold ups at all. People leaving straight after the last band all had the same idea and were stuck for hours.

Overall, good time had, but at 30 and a previous festival goer in my youth the rain just let it down.

We left after Babyshambles, caught the very last bit of Primal Scream, walked to the car, was in the road in 7 mins flat and back in Bolton for 12.45am, simple. But we did move the car in the morning to be right next to the road out next to the Police drug check tent :)

West to Chelmsford and had a good time (however not as good as some of the festivals I've been to before).

Although Foo Fighters were very good and played a fantastic set, the highlight for me was probably Air Traffic who I thought were brilliant.

Enjoyed myself too.... But I think this is the last festival i'll be going to as my body just can't cope with the hardship... slept 12 hours straight from 6pm to 6am this morning!!!

21-08-2007, 11:28
Rain did put a big downer on it all...

Highlights for me were the Foo's acoustic 606 set and believe it or not Ocean Colour Scene in the JJB tent....

They rocked it from start to finish...

Was pretty miffed they never opened the back gates at Weston after the Kooks set!!!...

went to weston and had the time of my life, not done any festivals for years and few of us decided to go it was that good just booked for next year !!

on friday got there after 6 hours traveling only live about 75 miles away !! we set up tent 6 man one never done it before and did it in about 40 min was well proud, so this was about 2 in the morn and all got few hours sleep and at 6 am i heared this anoying scouse lad sayin common people out the fire lane and got out of the tent and saw we had set up right in the middle gutted !! so back down and set up about 5 min away not a good start to the event.

on sat we saw james on main stage was well impressed, spent most time in the bacardi dance tent some wicked acts in there and good atmosphere, other than that we saw on the channel 4 stage mark ronson they were amazing another act would not have picked but loved all of it, then later on lilly allen i like here anyway and she was cool and taking the mick in between songs good fun but the last was basement jaxx that was totaly best set of the day eveyone was rocking. did go the jjb tent early in the day one of our pals did want to see seth lakeman but sadly was not impressed.

on sunday main stage saw first just jack was very good should have been on later i thought as missed some of him then come back later for kanye west was fab had the place jummpin, and later on happy mondays was not lookin forward to this but had such a good time they did a wicked show. the kooks finnished the night on that stage but didnt think they give there all and was not in to it as much as i hoped, also went to channel 4 to see juliette and the licks was not in to this but like her and she put on good show, in the jjb where were few acts i liked someone said previous the ocean colour scene the place was rocking with them so good, last was the union tent and 2 acts we seen were good the wombats and mr hudson + the library

only thing i was gutted over was amy winehouse and was not impressed with the fratellis

got 2 question for people where can i get some pics from of the event and any footage i know there was somethin on sunday night on c4 but was still at the event and missed
