Just watched 1 of my star wars VCDS (ta BoP-GuN).

This film must be one of the best examples of why films should not be P+S.

Dont get me wrong, the film is still watchable but you always have the "i wonder what it will be like in WS" in the back of your head.

A few points :

#1 the titles. where the intro scrolls away you can only read the text when it gets to the top 1/3 of the screen, but you can easily see that it is p+scanned, and you can almost visualise the correct display, which you should be able to read from the bottom of the screen!

#2 the shots of the space ships would look far better in WS, to give a more visual impact.

#3 if you are a fan then the disks are worth getting, as i dont think the episode 4,5 and 6 will be released on dvd for a while yet.

I am (half way through) getting the Star Wars trilogy on VCD in widescreen.

Im doing this by downloading a divx file off the net, and converting it to VCD. The quality is similar to VHS, although it doesn't cost 30 quid just a bit of time!

I own the box set on VHS, so this is legal.
