Just wondering what films people watch when the're ill??
Do you watch different ones, or are you strange like me and watch the same ones all the time??
My favourite one to watch recently is Election, I love that film.
Maybe, it's because I can watch it over and over and not get bored of it.

When I'm ill I'll be in the house by myself normally - so I watch the films that only I like - things like TimeCop (top film ;) and Highlander :)
My favourite genre for the sniffs and snuffles are comedys and romances eg, When Harry Met Sally, Thomas Crown Afair, Meet The Parents.
I'm saving The Shinning for when I've got flu as the shivver it'll give me will probably be a better cure than Beechams. :D

I think The Simpsons has invaded your life!
I tend to watch the ones I know my girlfriend wouldn't want to. So my annual bout of 'flu normally lets me see
Seven Samurai
Thin Red Line
This year I will also be watching "The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeousie"; "Traffic" and "The Shining"

Mr Flibble, have you been looking at my collection?
When I was off school ill MANY years ago it always seemed to be Thoroughly Modern Millie or Hannibal Brooks that I'd find on the telly!

Ferris Bueller
Animal House
Office Space
+ any random Kevin Smith film
Pretty much just comedies, though I think the BTTF trilogy will be up there when it's out on DVD.

Just like you guys, it's the kind of film my girlfriend would tut all the way through...which is why PREDATOR must surely be top of the list! Some of the lines are gloriously terrible but the film still makes me smile all the way through...it's comforting to watch films like that or, say, The Last Boy Scout, when you're feeling ill!
Oh yes, and of course Big Trouble In Little China...

I always used to put my David Lynch movies on when I was sick
Dune, Eraserhead and Blue Velvet!!!
Hmm for me its Robocop or Field of Dreams - no consistancy eh :)
Paul.
I was ill yesterday with the traded sniffles and managed to catch Fail Safe on Sky Moviemax in the morning. Never been that interested in it but I was hooked by it. Abit sentimental in places but very thought provoking and great performance from Richard Dreyfuss. I watched this while having a headache, runny nose, aching limbs and pumped to the eyeballs with paracetermols so if anybody thinks it's crap then there's me excuse.
I tend not to watch films when i'm ill, it always puts me off the movie, when ever I see it again it makes me feel how ill I was the last time I saw it.

I feel exactly the same! I just watch old T.V. re-reruns on U.K. Gold or Granada Plus.

yeah Fail Safe is a pretty good movie, i'd love to have seen it for real -- a Live drama with such top actors!! nice.
When ill, i like romantic comedies, you know that kind of stuff, but the absolute best film i've seen when i was ill, was UHF. I knew nothing of it, expect from the Sky synopsis, it had Micheal 'Kramer' Richards, and Wierd Al -- turns out the film had me laughing my ass off!! -- would love that on DVD!! only available on OOP Vhs :(
for some reason when i'm ill, i'm reminded of my school days, and that quiz programme "Going For Gold" -- wierd!!
just found out UHF is coming on DVD this summer -- wooohoo - !! :D

Anyway, any time I need cheering up, I chuck on Mr Holland's Opus - gotta be the best feel good movie in the world. At least, it is for me... Never fails to cheer me up :D
Tombstone........just looking at Doc Holliday makes me feel alot better:D

Princess Bride. Then I can pretend I'm Fred Savage and Peter Falk is reading me a story:D . Or is that too sick? Maybe I've been living alone too long.
I always end up watching Lost Highway when I'm suffering from a nasty hangover and am incapable of anything but lying on the sofa. Something about the pacing of the film just seems to harmonise with my mood at those times... very odd! Ironically, it's usually another Lynch movie - Eraserhead - that I would have been watching a few hours previous, as I always seem to end up watching that when I get home from the pub in a very drunken state. :)
Gotcha MARKMAN :D
My fingers must have slipped, but all work and no play make Nana a something, something. :D

Last time I was ill, I watched The Matrix but I was starting to feel better then. I have to watch something totally escapist because I am always depressed about having to lay in bed all day. Toy Story 1 or 2 are good because they're so inoffensive if oyu know what I mean
